We came, we saw, we litterpicked!

TOP OFFENDERS: Stella Artois cans, Twix and Milky Way wrappers, and v**e cartridges.

UNUSUAL FINDS: a hammer in a bin bag, epic chunks of polystyrene and baby scales!

AMOUNT COLLECTED: 9 purple bags of rubbish in 1 hour ๐Ÿ’ช But, there's a lot more to do still.

NEXT STEPS: Arrange a second litterpick, find out who owns the land and put pressure on them to maintain it OR *sharp inhale of breath* explore adopting the land.

๐Ÿฅฐ Thank you so much to everyone who came out to litterpick Earlswood Brook Patch, on Hooley Lane this evening (4/9/24). You are awesome!

So this might be my favourite edition so far, I couldn't not share. Sent over by Natalie in Ifold Road Park. Apparently she was playing football with her young daughter on the MUGA and a group of teenagers were playing basketball on the other side - and this is what she heard.

Keep sending any good ones my way.

Camping... because therapy is expensive.

Honestly! A long weekend of slow living in the great outdoors was all I needed to reset. The fact that we hung out with our Essex family is the vegan icing on the gluten-free cake!

We listened to Crosby, Stills & Nash, visited an on-site car boot sale, swam in a lake, went for a litter picking walk, picked blackberries, hung out with family, roasted marshmallows and slept under the stars.

What are you doing this summer to re-set?

The night that I won an award from the Reigate & Banstead Mayor, and then decided to stage my own "Hello magazine" style photo shoot in the Mayor's chambers... some snaps of the evening.

Joking aside, I was very humbled to be nominated by local residents Claire and Jerrine for an Individual Volunteer Award ๐Ÿซถ

Such a large chunk of Eco Earlswood's work is campaigning for better for where we live through campaigns and pop-up events. It feels incredible that together, we're starting to make a difference.

Shout out to all the other incredible volunteers who were acknowledged in this evening's award ceremony. Particularly proud that the Chairman & Treasurer of Earlswood 2nd Reigate Scout Group were included ๐Ÿ™Œ

These reviews for the Earlswood Farmers Market are EVERYTHING! Thank you ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ™

And yes, the first one is from our newly elected MP - she is a proud supporter of British Farming and has been known to hang out at the Earlswood Farmers Market!

๐Ÿ‘‰ The Earlswood Farmers Market is on the last Sunday of every month, 10am - 2pm at

๐Ÿ“ The Marquis of Granby pub, Hooley Lane, RH1 6ET

If you've been and sampled our wares, I'd love a review. Link in stories/ bio.

So this feels like the best news of all time. Fiiiiinally after over 18 months of being closed, have reopened our beloved Pavillion Cafe in Redhill's Memorial Park - just in time for summer.

I vote we brush over the fact that it has been an entire year since the council promised they'd re-lease the cafe AND a staggering 14 months since I embarked on my petition to get the toilets (in the very least) reopened. Who remembers the iconic poo emoji outfit? ๐Ÿ’ฉ

So hallelujah for Florries ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ™ Let's "Show Up For Local" and shower them with support!

๐Ÿ“ท With thanks to for the photos

Here's an idea.๐Ÿ’ก Inspired by my friends village in Kent. You know when you leave your unwanted bits and bobs outside your home for someone to rehome?? What if, as a community, we all did this on the same weekend?

For example, the first weekend of every month? So every first weekend, we could walk or drive around browsing and rehoming each others doorstop donations or curbside clutter?

๐Ÿ‘‰ I'D LOVE TO HEAR SOME FEEDBACK ON THIS! ๐Ÿ‘ˆ

In other news and related to the image, I left some free aloe vera plants on the wall outside the Marquis of Granby pub earlier. Hoping they've found good homes! ๐ŸŒฑ

Did you know, we're currently in "Tidy Earlswood" week? I'm loving these photos of Earlswood 2nd Reigate Scout Group on a mission to make where we live a nicer place.

The Explorers did a fantastic job of helping with the overgrown plants at St Johnโ€™s Church, and the Beavers litterpicked around Common Road Playground and the surrounding roads.

Next week, the Scouts and Cubs will also help "Tidy Earlswood". Any suggestions on specific areas they could target welcomed!! ๐Ÿ’š

Who remembers these amazing headlines from 9 years ago?? I loved Fanny's Farm, especially the incredible tree house.

For anyone Redhill newbies, Fanny's Farm was a farm shop in Merstham that sold home-grown veg and flowers. They also served the best cream teas in coverted chicken sheds. You could wander around the grounds, and they had a tree house you could book for special cream teas! I have a very vivid memory of trying marmalade sausages once...

Earlswood & Redhill Kidical Mass is back! Meeting at Memorial Park at 10am on Sunday 23rd June. Peter Stewart from Planet Reigate Podcast will open the ride, then we'll cycle together as a massive group, around the streets of Earlswood and Redhill - ending at Earlswood Infants School. Where the Friends of Earlswood team will be on hand to serve us nibbles and refreshments.

Last year we had over 500 people join in with our two Earlswood and Redhill mass family cycle rides, and we would love it if as many people as possible joined us for our upcoming ride.

BUT WHAT IS KIDICAL MASS?
Kidical Mass is a global movement that campaigns for better cycling infrastructure where you live. ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™€๏ธ For instance, have you ever thought about how the National cycle route 21 that runs down Earlsbrook Road doesn't even have a cycle lane?? ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™€๏ธ Or have you ever wished you could cycle to school with your child?

๐Ÿšตโ€โ™€๏ธ Cyclists from 0 to 99 are invited to cycle with us, as a massive group to promote safer cycling safer for children and families in your community.

๐Ÿšตโ€โ™€๏ธ The rides are free of charge and open to all (you don't have to be in a family), with dedicated adults acting as Ride Safety Marshals.

๐Ÿšตโ€โ™€๏ธ All children must be accompanied by an adult (also on a bike) and they are responsible for keeping their child safe.

This ride has been
๐Ÿ‘‰ Organised by Eco Earlswood and team,
๐Ÿ‘‰ Supported by Planet Reigate Podcast and Friends of Earlswood, and
๐Ÿ‘‰ Sponsored by Earlswood Suez Recycling Centre

A huge thank you to everyone who supported, shared, sponsored and attended the Earlswood Carnival 2024! We raised a fantastic amount, just shy of ยฃ6000 ๐ŸŽ‰

All money raised goes to your local Scout Group - Earlswood 2nd Reigate. In 2016 we began our fundraising journey to "Build a New Scouting Home" and have so far raised an amazing ยฃ100,000.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Did you know... Founded in 1908, Earlswood 2nd Reigate Scout Group are one of the oldest Scout Group's in the world. โšœ๏ธ The HQ has been on its current site since 1931, but is now somewhat dilapidated. We desperately need new facilities and we really appreciate your support for helping us on our journey.
