I posted this video on my stories and had SO MANY QUESTIONS about "the swimming pool in the church" - so I'm going to do my best to answer them. 👉 LOCATION The carol concert was held in the converted chapel in Royal Earlswood Park. 👉 TELL US MORE Royal Earlswood Park (REP) is an old asylum where 2 of Queen Elizabeth II cousins lived. It's a stunning building converted into apartments - and the old chapel is now the gym/ swimming pool. The entire estate feels like something out of Bridgerton. 👉 BUT WHY DID THEY DO A CONCERT THERE? Well, beyond the amazing acoustics, the organ is listed so it remains in the gym area. REP are keen to raise money to repair the organ and hold annual Christmas concerts. 👉 CAN ANYONE GO? Nope, sadly not. You have to be a REP resident to use the pool/ gym facilities. I am fortunate that my good friend Laurie lives in the building and gifted me 2 x tickets. 👉 HOW SURPRISED WERE YOU? This is my second year attending, so I was definitely more shocked in 2023! Royal Earlswood in name Royal Earlswood in nature. Honestly, this carol concert felt positively regal with the acoustics, aesthetics and bizarrely brilliant concept. WHAT DIFFERENT STUFF HAVE YOU DONE THIS CHRISTMAS? Shoutout to the gorgeous Windmill choir and the REP staff for the amazing concert. #RoyalEarlswood #EcoEarlswood #Earlswood

NEXT RIDE: Sunday 6th October, 10am. A 5km gentle circular route of Redhill, starting and finishing at Carrington School, Redhill. Apart from keeping other riders safe, WHAT DOES A RIDE MARSHAL DO? 🚴‍♀️ Your main role is to help with the flow of traffic, ie preventing cars from interrupting the ride. We do this by using the Ride Marshals to block traffic at junctions, roundabouts, traffic lights, etc so all the cyclists safely ride together as a group. 🚴‍♀️ We also use Ride Marshals to communicate politely with other road users about what the ride is, apologise for any inconvenience, thank them for their patience etc. 🚴‍♀️ As a Ride Marshal, you are the eyes and ears of the ride. You help report any incidents on the ride to the Ride Leader. 🚴‍♀️ And finally, you are a positive ambassador of cycling. You provide a friendly and welcoming environment for all Kidical Mass participants. ANYTHING ELSE? The route is fully risk assessed, we provide reccee rides and an on-the-day Ride Marshal buddy system to partner new Ride Marshals with experienced Ride Marshals. 👉 CAN YOU HELP? The St John's Road/ Emlyn Road development update. I actually quite like it. I mean, it includes off road parking. They've not gone nuts on the height.
