A notification to remind everyone the Deoch an Dorus quiz is now off until the New Year. Thanks to everyone who's come along over the past 12 months, and to the bar staff who help it run smoothly every week.

However...if any friends are wanting ideas for festive quizzes over the coming days then make sure to give me a shout.

Unfortunately the quiz is off this week as the bar will need to shut early. We'll be back as normal next Sunday.

Well done to this week's victorious team, who were comfortably back to winning ways for the first time in a while.

Well done to tonight's winners, The Quizidillas. They've been playing for as long as I've hosted the quiz and finally secured their first ever win, defeating our two record champions.

They also managed to depart with the £50 prize. Well deserved from a loyal and regular team.

Pro-tip: if you're going to cheat at my quiz, don't ask me to come up to your table and read out a question when I can see you've been Googling an answer on your phone.

Tonight's cheats finished with 0 points and left before the end in disgrace.

Since they're not too fond of most spirits (the prize for whoever knocks down the tower), they instead opted for two shots of Tennent's...

Despite the 10-point deduction, they still managed to win the quiz with a perfect score in the final round.
