April 2014 Tom and I came to Mammoth Cave National Park during our honeymoon to Kentucky; because he of his herniated disc he wasn’t able to tour any part of the cave. We had planned to return here for our 1st anniversary but he died 4 months shy of that dream.

Joe has always wanted to see Mammoth Cave with his late wife Rose so we included it as part of our honeymoon. I wasn’t sure about coming here for our honeymoon but I’m so thankful we did. We couldn’t do the big tours because Joe just had back surgery two weeks ago but we did the self guided tour and it was awesome.

Joe and I have had our struggles navigating love and marriage after widowhood but I know I’m extremely blessed to have a husband who helped fulfill a dream of that we both shared previously with our late spouses.
