Since launching a career in DJing and party organization in 2009, the American-born AJ has seen a meteoric rise to becoming one of the foremost forces in modern trance and rave culture in Japan. Establishing his own party in 2014, titled the "Church of Trance," it was initially a friends-only gathering consisting of no more than 10 people. Guided and guarded by AJ's honed curatorial skills, COT ha
s featured popular artists such as Electric Universe, Freedom Fighters, Waio, John 00 Fleming, and more recently—Faders this summer. Widely accessible to both underground and mainstream audiences, in addition to boasting a highly international core fanbase, the brand displays a potential rarely witnessed in Japan's long and storied party history. A universally loved DJ himself, AJ commands the decks with unmatched musicality, technique, and charisma. His plethora of nicknames, ranging from "Mr. COT" to "Bruce Lim," "The Shaman King" and beyond are but a small testament to his extreme popularity. In 2017, AJ won Ageha's hard dance music-based "AGEHARD" DJ contest, earning him the right to rock the arena of Japan's biggest club. Since then, his popularity has continued to multiply, culminating in performances atop the country's most esteemed stages, including the legendary Solstice Music Festival, which has been running for two decades. But his biggest career milestone thus far is, unquestionably, a summer 2022 performance at the world's foremost psychedelic gathering—O.Z.O.R.A. Openly acknowledging the power of dance and particularly trance music to elevate human consciousness, AJ continues his mission to build a better world...one dance floor at a time. Official COT page:
