🌟MEANING OF ADVENT. 🌟

The term advent comes from the Latin "adventus", which means coming. Advent is a time of joy and thankfulness for the advent of our Lord Jesus Christ. It's a holiday added late after Easter to the liturgical calendar. These four weeks leading up to Christmas are an opportunity to prepare in hope and repentance for the Lord’s coming.

Advent is the first period of the Christian liturgical year, which consists of a time of preparation for the birth of Christ. Its duration can vary from 21 to 28 days, as it is celebrated the four Sundays leading up to the Christmas holiday. The faithful consider it a time of reflection and forgiveness.

●First Sunday of Advent:
December 1 (Lk 21, 25-28. 34-36).

●Second Sunday of Advent: December 8 (Lk 3:1-6).

● Third Sunday of Advent:
December 15 (Lc 3, 10-18)

● Fourth Sunday of Advent:
December 22 (Lc 1:39-45)

ADVENT CROWN.
During Advent, a crown of pine branches is placed in churches and also in some homes, called "Advent Crown". This wreath has four candles, one for each Sunday of Advent. There is a little Advent tradition: each of these four candles is assigned a virtue that needs to be improved on that week, for example: the first, love; the second, peace; the third, tolerance and the fourth, faith.

🗓 ADVENT CALENDAR.

The advent calendar symbolizes ""countdown"" from December 1 to December 24, 2024 Christmas Eve. It's usually made for the kids at home and it's a fun way to find out how long until Christmas. Calendars with chocolates, candies, toys and lots of gifts are available. This custom dates back to the 19th century, when children in Protestant Germany lit a candle for each day of the Advent period. It's a very beautiful tradition and many families make their own calendars with very creative designs.
