It's time to announce the winners of the First Annual Dazzling Bra Contest. We had 27 entries and received over $2000 to go to the Holt County Cancer Fund, Inc. to help local cancer patients with transportation.

Since we had such an overwhelming response to our project, D & D Hometown Events has added a second place B***y prize of a $25 gift card to Toad Hollar restaurant to go with the first place prize of a $50 gift card. More information on this project and the winners will be posted on this page and will be in the local papers in the next weeks on the project and the winners.

Second place goes to "Fancy in Pink For Breast Cancer", Cookie Shields and Sue Jackson. First place winner goes to "Stand United Persevering in Prayer for Others in Really Tough Times -SUPPORT, New Point Christian Church. Congratulations to both of these for an outstanding job.

We would like to thank everyone that participating in making a dazzling bra and those that voted and contributed to this wonderful project.

Wow is all we can say - the generosity of people is so wonderful. We have had a great response to the Dazzling Bra Contest. We will announce the winners - yes the winners of the B***y Prizes on Sunday. We had a couple that were very close so we decided to give a first and second place B***y Prize. Since the first place winner is not reachable until Sunday, we will announce the winners on Sunday afternoon.

We at D & D Hometown Events would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the community for supporting our Dazzling Bra contest and to those that participated with an entry and those that vote with generous amounts of money. Our goal was to raise awareness of Breast Cancer and to help the Holt County Cancer Fund, Inc. to be able to help local cancer patients in our area.

Have you voted yet - if not today is the last day to vote on the awesome dazzling bras that are at Toad Hollar restaurant in Mound City. Voting will end at 8 pm this evening. We have some very creative people in our community and we appreciate everyone taking the time to dazzle a bra and bring it for voting. All proceeds of the voting (money) will go to the Holt County Cancer Fund, Inc. to help local cancer patients.

Bras can be picked up at 8 pm this evening at Toad Hollar or by contacting Debbie or Debbie to pick up your bra. The announcement of the bra with the most votes will be announced tomorrow.

We would like to thank everyone that took the time out of their busy schedule to participate in the First Annual Dazzling Bra Contest. We had 27 beautifully decorated entries from some very creative people. If you have not had a chance to see the bras, please go to Toad Hollar in Mound City and vote for your favorite or favorites. Bring your pocket change or dollars and vote. Please vote - multiple times - this is one time you CAN stuff the ballot box and get away with it!!!! Voting will end on Thursday, October 28 at 8 pm with the winner announced on Friday and in the local newspaper the following week.

Remember all proceeds go to the Holt County Cancer Fund, Inc. to help with transportation costs of local cancer patients.

We will be posting some of the bras in the next few days so you can see all of the beauties.

SS Creations will dazzle you with her beautiful key wristlets that are magnificently made for every occasion. Stop by and see Stephanie and all that she has to offer you.

Cookware is always a popular item to give as gifts or to purchase for yourself. Pampered Chef has all of your needs when it comes to the kitchen area. Stop by and see Amy and all of the wonderful items she has at her booth.

The cooler weather is making me need to clean out my closet and put in my fall and winter clothes, but I really just would love to purchase some new fall/winter sweaters. Reading to our children, grandchildren and others is so very important and Dottie from Usborne Books and More can tell you which books are great for what age group. What a wonderful gift to give your small ones this year - books of all kinds. Stop by and see Dottie and the books and other items she has to show you at her booth Saturday.

Are you ready for Halloween, Fall or even Christmas - well if not Rhonda from Rhonda's Ceramics can show you all of the wonderful items she has made to decorate your home. One of kind pieces, specially made will be found at this booth. Stop by and see Rhonda for all of our decorative needs.

Are we ready for some baking or just a snack? I'm always ready for both!!!! The PEO Chapter HP will be setup with their nuts for all of your holiday baking and snacking needs. Pecans, walnuts and mixed nuts will be available and they make a wonderful gift to your baking friends. Stop by and support this local group and purchase some wonderful nuts.

I can smell the aroma of these products already - who doesn't love the scent of the Scentsy warmers? And all of the beautiful warmers to display and use your scents in. We will be open tomorrow beginning at 9 am until 3 pm for your shopping pleasure. We have many vendors attending and we can't wait to show you all they have to offer. Today we will tell you about the other vendors that will be set up at the First Annual Spring Vendor/Craft Show at the McRae Community Building, Toad Hollar on March 20 from 9 am to 3 pm. Their no admission free - some come out and have some fun, see some wonderful crafts and products and support your local small businesses.

Heavenly Scent Handmade will be showcasing their personally handmade soaps, bath supplies and candles at this show. Nothing helps unwind a person at the end of the day than using some great bath products and smelling wonderfully scented candles. Stop by and visit with Shannon and see all of the great products she has to offer.

BlessedX3 Boutique will be having some wonderful items at this show. Spring has sprung and you will be able to find that perfect top, pants, jeans, shorts or legging at this show. Also will be some great sale items for you to pick up along with the last of the hats, gloves and winter items. Every gal needs a new clothing item to make her feel good. A big hint to all of the guys out there - hint, hint, gift certificates are also available to surprise that wonderful women for the upcoming Mother's Day, birthday or just because. Stop by to see Angie or one of the gals at her booth.

Scentsy has a wide variety of items that will be available at this show. Not only does Scentsy have warmers, diffusers, oils and wax, did you know that you can order body care items and laundry care items and many other items. Come look at all of the wonderful items and smells that will be coming from this booth of Kelly's at this show. Don't forget that Mother's Day, Graduation and birthdays and anniversaries are a great time to give these gifts.

DesignsbyDebJ will have a little bit of everything from embroidered linens, wooden signs, Easter decor, Spring and Summer decor, gifts for everyone on your list and more. Easter Bunny Jars will also be available for sale filled with candy to give to those special little ones. Stop by and visit with Debbie and see all of the items she has available or she can do as a custom order for you. Lots of great gifts for the upcoming holidays can be found at this booth.

D & D Hometown Events will be hosting this event but we will also have a booth to explain more of what our business is. We will be hosting vendor/craft shows in the area but we are also available to help plan and do all of the work for you for upcoming anniversary parties, birthday parties, wedding receptions, family reunions, class reunions or any type of gathering you are wanting to do. We will sit down with you and make your dream party a reality - even the clean up. We will also be doing projects in the community throughout the year to get everyone out of the house and to enjoy and support the small local businesses. Today we spotlight more of our great vendors attending the First Annual Spring Vendor/Craft Show at the McRae Community Building, Toad Hollar in Mound City, MO. We will be open from 9 am to 3 pm.

Pampered Chef has some wonderful products to make your life so much easier in the kitchen. From the gadgets to the pots and pans, Pampered Chef is a great value and a durable product. Stop by Amy's booth to see the newest products and all of the wonderful items she will have. Don't forget mom's and graduates would love to have some Pampered Chef to celebrate their day with.

Haileas Hobbies will be setup to showcase her many crocheted, knitted items and her natural body care items. Handmade items are great gifts and Hailea will have lots to offer for that special someone.

Usborne Books and More will be having a great selection of children's educational books for you to select from. It is so important to keep our children reading and to read to them at a small age and this booth will have lots of wonderful books to choose from. Stop by to see what more Dottie will have to offer at this booth. Remember books make a great gift for Easter and birthdays - just saying, hint, hint.

Crissy's Custom Creations will be showcasing her wide selection of epoxy tumblers to purchase. She will have all types and styles to choose from and who doesn't need a special made for you tumbler. Stop by and see all that Crissy will have available at her booth.

Cutting Edge Slab will have a wide selection of wooden signs and wooden crafts available for you to choose from. Stop by and see the selection of wooden items for sale at Nathan and Josh's booth. Everyone needs a new sign to hang on the door or that special place in the house.

Today we will continue to let you know some of the great vendors we have and little about what they are showcasing.

Tastefully Simple has some wonderful, tasty products. They have great dips, mixes, desserts, beer bread, drinks, sauces and much more. Makes me hungry just thinking about all they have to offer. Stop by and see Sandy and pick up some great items to have for simple and easy spring and summertime meals. BBQ season is just around the corner so make plans to wow your family and company.

Moshers Goodies and More will be showcasing their all natural handmade bath and body products, soaps, bathbombs, and lotions. They will also have signs and much more. Just think about having a long, rough day and soaking in the tub with one of her great bath bombs. Remember to pick up items for those special ladies on your list for Mother's Day and graduation. Stop by and have Michelle tell you about all of her natural handmade products.

Thirty-One has such a great selection of handbags, coolers, totes, organizers and so much more. Remember days to the pool are made easier with a Thirty-One tote with all of the necessities for a cool and fun day at the pool. Crissy will have all kinds of her wonderfully baked items available along with you can order for that upcoming party for Mother's Day, graduation or birthday. Margaret's Hand Crafted will have all of those items that you would love to make but don't have the time to do or just can't make.
