Chris Zinn Celebrant I'm a celebrant because I believe in speaking from the heart. In creating authentic atmospheres in which emotions can unfold and flow spontaneously. Funerals.

Marriage Celebrant. MC reception and events. Renewal of vows. Baby Naming.

Many marriage celebrants don't like to do funerals. I love to do both. I have never shied away from death. As a reporter, I have covered too much of it. I

have been privileged to write several obituaries of those famous and less so. I sit on a government board reforming the funeral industry. I am well trained and know I can create and conduct any ceremony to honour the deceased appropriately.

Memorialising people and events is an essential part of grieving. With many years of experience, I always prepare a questionnaire for meetings with the family, getting all the information in a way that does not make the family uncomfortable but allows the family to discuss the deceased person openly, often sharing personal details and anecdotes.

There's always sadness and grief to accept and manage, but every life is also worthy of celebration and joy, whatever caused its ending. In the most trying of circumstances and worst of days, I can help families navigate and make the most of any funeral or wake.

Registered marriage celebrants are authorised to certify a range of documents needed to both legitimate marriages and for other purposes.

In their training, celebrants must show they are fit and proper persons to the Attorney Generals Department. If so, they have the power to witness signatures on a number of documents.

If you are getting married, I have written an article to guide you through the documents need to be completed with the celebrant's signature or, in some cases, another authorised person. Check the Blog on my website!

What do you think is the most popular day and time for a wedding in Australia?

Saturday at 3 pm!

It gives guests plenty of time to prepare and arrive at the venue and lots of time (and light) for photos before dinner and dancing.

However, organising your celebration at a different time or even day of the week can open up experiences you may not have thought about. For example, have you ever considered your ceremony through sunrise or sunset? What about a Sunday lunch party or even a weekday ceremony?

It could save you lots of money and make it easier to book venues and anything else you might need. So before you consider Saturday 3 pm, you can brainstorm some out of the box alternatives!

“Chris has MC’d our wedding dinner and milestone birthdays. He is a passionate and charismatic communicator, who always goes the extra mile to be fully informed and personalise his message. He also has a great sense of fun and ensures a good balance between humour and formality. I would recommend Chris wholeheartedly for all occasions.“

What are the basics of getting married? After you have decided you want me to organise one of your most important moments, we will go through simple steps to set everything up for the big day.

1. Paperwork - I will guide you through the documents you need to present. I will lodge the ones needed (Notice of intended marriage and Declaration of no Legal Impediment to Marriage, choosing Witnesses, and some other things).

2. Ceremony - we will discuss what type of ceremony you want and organise the one just right for you (venue, music, style, etc.)

3. Rehearsal - if necessary, we might arrange a rehearsal to ensure it all comes together from the very beginning to the end.

4. The Big Day - that day, I will arrive earlier to make sure everything is as agreed and wait for you to share a day you will remember forever. Are you ready for it?

Facing the task of planning a loved one's funeral service may feel overwhelming and intense in many ways. A funeral service is a crucial step in the grieving process, and many people believe that everyone conducts those ceremonies in the same way. I don't.

I think the ceremony needs to be planned well and honour the loved one's memory unforgettably. Although they can be unfortunate, it's also an opportunity to honour your loved one with a meaning that reflects their personality in a meaningful way.

Book a chat with me if you would like to have a celebrant who will provide you peace of mind, support, alternatives, and create a personalised ceremony that resonates with you and your loved one.
