The Queen Emma bridge is a pontoonbridge across St Anna Bay, connecting Punda and Otrobanda. Known by the locals as The Swinging Old Lady. The bridge is hinged and opens regularly to enable the passage of oceangoing vessels. The bridge was built in 1888 and regularly renovated through the years. Originally a toll bridge from 1901-1934, individuals without shoes were permitted to cross the bridge without paying the toll. It’s the only wooden floating bridge that hinges and opens in the world. You gotta feel the gentle swinging of the Old Lady when you cross it. Some even feel a little bit seasick. And also: come back at night when the lights are on. #curacaoretreats #curacao #retreatsoncuracao #retreatplanning #experiencecuracao #queenemmabridge #cometocuracao #theswingingoldlady

I've been in the Netherlands this year. We had a week with beautiful weather last week and it felt soooo good! Everybody friendlier, sunbathing on balcony's, walking around in T-shirts. I optimistically put away the winter clothes. Then I woke up to this......
Time to go to Curaçao; to feel the warm breeze, and the sun on your shoulders. Time to walk around in slippers, drinking a rum&coke at the beach bar, watching the sun go down...
