This is not an Acorn Event, but we would love to see a great turnout for our Senior Center, and out TWP. Rec. Committee. Who knows, if this goes well, maybe next winter, we can freeze a street in town and have a curling tournament.

Atco Acorn Business Spotlight Q&A
Landvista Aquascapes

Ray and Lisa Oren
Landvista Aquascapes
212 W.H.P.
Atco NJ 08004
Web Landvistaaquascapes.com
Email [email protected]
Or call at 856-768 - 9404

Q,) Tell me a little about yourself.

A) Lisa and I are lifelong Atco residents (until recently). We were married in 1995. We have (2) adult children - Alex (30) and Alyssa (24).

Q) Tell me a little about Aquascapes.

A) We started a lawn and landscaping business in 1993 together. Built our first pond in 2004, but it wasn’t until 2014, when we became Landvista Aquascapes, that we went fully water feature oriented. We have a retail location as of 2018, and also offer installation and maintenance services. We like to tell everyone that we are here for you as much or as little as you need us.

Q) who's your typical client and what are price ranges

A) We have a retail location where you can get everything you need to build your own, or maintain an existing pond. We also install water features anywhere from $5,000 to well over $100,000. We maintain a number of ponds that we did NOT install. We do cleanings, renovations and repairs.
Everyone wants a water feature, they just don’t know it yet.

*4) what about maintaining and aftercare ?

Our features are relatively low maintenance. We do offer water feature maintenance as well as installation. We tell our clients that our service gets their feature “party ready”. Our main focus is to educate people on our philosophy of working with Mother Nature and not against her. Our ponds are balanced ecosystems, water gardens, and wildlife habitats.

*5) what sets you apart from other similar companies

We are Certified Aquascape Contractors and Retailers. As such, we are held to a higher standard because of that association. We attend industry training events several times throughout each year, continually improving and educating ourselves and our teammates.

*6) anything else you'd like to say to our viewers?

Everyone that stops by tells us the same thing. I didn’t know you were here - you need a bigger sign!
We were cool with remaining a secret in town up until last November when we put our showcase koi pond in. We are thrilled with how it came out and would love to invite everyone to come stroll around our design center. Have a seat next to one of our three ponds, watch the fish and feel the stress melt away. We had a small Easter egg hunt this year and are looking to have more events here at the store in the future.

We just wanted to get the word out that we’re here. That people can stop by and get ideas, see some cool features, have their lunch next to a pond? Talk to us about ponds, ask us questions, get excited about the industry that we fell in love with. Possibly increase foot traffic and sales for the store - as well as installs and service.

Great Day for The Atco Acorn Kickball Classic III. This event benefits the Atco Wolves. Money being tallied. So far after expenses Shirts and additional insurance over $1100 raised by shirt sales and Bucket donations. Plus The Atco Wolves cheerleading and football program did their own 50/50 and My employer B.D.C. I. Donated soda and water wich was sold at 100% profit. Total funds raised will be available in a few days.
All in all this event was about community. The Atco Acorn is about community, the Atco Wolves are about community. Whenever you see a baseball/ softball, hockey, soccer or little league game it's parents donating their time effort and money for the community.
Atco/ Waterford township is a wonderful community with many civic organizations composed of people who care about this community.
The mayor and council members whether you agree with them or not politically donate their time for what they think will bring positive impact to the town.
The police department is made up of members that care about our town. At least the folks that I've met and talked to. The same with the Fire Dept.
Last year when I wanted to have a kickball game I just wanted to get together and play a game I played everyday on the blacktop at Atco elementary. It turned into something bigger. And I want to thank the players, my staff Scott Bowling, Cristy Goehringer, Casey Harper and Larry Gray. The police department, the municipal clerks office and our sponsors who give us the seed money to purchase insurance and shirts. Racks Atco, C.A.R. Electric Inc. American Lawn irrigation Inc, Atco Assembly of God, Ray's barber shop, Carny's Quality Craftmanship LLC., Kelly Dental, Emilio Plumming, Alexa Zito Realtor with Riley Realtors, LeRoy P Wooster funeral home and Dorgans professional landscaping and lawn service LLC

Pizza steak made by Chef Deej' at the Alibi!
Good food! Saturday I interviewed Neil Wilson of the 3 Amigos Cycling team of Atco. ( Matt Linden, Neil Wilson and Lynn Sherman)
They are having the First Annual 3 Amigos Cycling Team Bike Giveaway.
These three got together and bought a bike that will go to some lucky winner.
Rules.
Local boy or girl 16 years or younger must list 3 things they like about living in Atco on an index card. We recommend listing a person, place and a thing in town that you like about Atco. Get creative.
Put your first name only and parents phone number on the back of index card. The card must be written by the child.
Drop card off at display at Brotherton brewing company. Drawing will be Dec 23rd at Brotherton brewing company. You don't need to be present but a parent must be able to prove you live in town.
Good luck.
Thanks Matt Neil and Lynn for your generosity.
