When clients ask me about social marketing, I say "you need to be where your customers are". And as I started Honey Bee, I created a page to help serve what I thought would be my customer base; small businesses. Over the last year, Honey Bee's evolved to helping organizations of all sizes but they all share something in common. They learn about us from networking, referrals and word of mouth; not from Facebook. So, I've decided to take my own medicine and close this page. Why am I sharing this you ask?
Because as entrepreneurs and marketers we rarely share our lessons learned. We should be trying new things and re-calibrating and that's exactly what I'm doing here. Honey Bee has grown beyond my wildest dreams. I've brought on a team to help service clients and we're having a blast. So, we're taking this energy and rolling into marketing efforts outside of Facebook. I'll still be sharing any great milestones on my personal page but for now, this page will be closed.
And for those wondering if Facebook marketing is dead, I'd tell you it depends on what you're selling. To my small business friends providing cottage industries, rental homes, experiences and more - stay at it. I use Facebook for marketing our vacation rental home and it has been an enormous success. I'm proud to say that integrating Facebook into our marketing plan has resulted in a 100% sell-out in our first summer. So, it can work when done well.
So from all of us at Honey Bee Marketing Solutions, thanks for following and keep up with us on our website www.honeybeemarketingsolutions.com or on LinkedIn. Cheers!
