In my 20 years I’ve witnessed the phases of nightlife and it’s influences shift and take on new forms. In 2025 we have much more connectivity to Black ppl who create music and bleed influence, in various corners of the earth. In my weekly sets, I try to incorporate the many sounds from those various regions, that catch my ear. The bubble of Kansas City (or whatever your locality) can feel so far away from these places so I use my platform to bring those flavors into closer proximity.
