Just letting you know you can now find my dried flower designs at Urban Digs in Greenville! And check out Sherrill Hill’s artwork there behind it too!
It’s such a fun shop with so many wonderful local artists featuring great decor and gifts.
One of my favorite things about this shop is all of the fresh, green plants at the door that are so welcoming on a dreary winter’s day.

So…! I’ve been working on my goal for my side hobby for growing and selling dried flowers. Today, I placed my first items in a gift shop. You can now find my dried home decor and gift items at Circa in Easley!
**If you’ve never been to Circa, you gotta go! Everything about it is wonderful.

Ferns were the main floral theme of this wedding with classic white roses and sparkling babies breath added in for elegance. Jeri wanted a classic vintage floral look with lots of ferns.
I used a vase of tall Kimberly fern fronds for the center piece and then bud vases and bowls of roses, babies breath and leather leaf fern along with mercury glass tea lights down the table. It was simple, but exactly what the setting called for. This was perfect. It was a beautiful wedding.

This cake traveled along a bumpy dirt road for about a mile before reaching the venue. The cake creator was panicked and mortified. No worries. How do you fix a naked, bumpy road cake? Load it up with flowers. The guests were none the wiser and thought it was just beautiful. Flowers make everything better.

Every once in a while, people ask me if I use my own flowers from my garden for weddings. I love the question, but the answer is that I don’t mostly. Horticultural florist flowers are much more reliable, but I do love to tuck in herbs and greens from my garden when I can. I almost always use rosemary in bridal bouquets. It makes them smell amazing! If you look through bouquets here on this page you’ll start to spot it now that I told you. And if I am doing a flower crown, I try to do a mix of rosemary, lavender, sage and thyme entwined with the flowers. It’s so fragrant! Also, I did intentionally plant some variegated pittosporum which is a standard florist greenery. I use that as filler greens for my cut flower arrangements. I’ve got a Leland Cypress that is good greenery for wreaths, sprays and arrangements during the holidays, but the tree I really want for my garden is a eucalyptus tree. I’ve noticed a few in yards in my town, and I think that would be ideal to own since we use eucalyptus in nearly everything.

Most of the time I give flowers to friends to encourage them, or celebrate them, but sometimes I give them to me for self care and to cheer myself up and to love on me. It’s been one of those weeks where I need to be mindful of the sentences swirling around in my head and be intentional to think on things that are good and true and lovely. We all have days like that, yes. So I bought flowers and made myself a big bouquet. These multi petaled lilies are wonderfully fragrant and making me smile. And as always, if I can ever make a local friend a bouquet, or if you want to give one, send me a message, I would be happy to!

New Hampshire in the Fall is postcard perfect. When we were planning a hilltop wedding surrounded by autumn scenery, we wanted a bouquet that would be a natural enhancement to the surrounding view. Burgundy dahlias, amnesia roses, dusty blue thistle, lilies, berries and seeded eucalyptus with a Bohemian wedding gown made for a romantic, elegant theme.

I love making wreaths! Here are a few I’ve made recently. One service I offer just for fun and for free is wreath making. If you supply the materials, and perhaps a picture of what you want if you have one, I’ll make it for you, or if you want to learn how, I’ll coach you. It’s just a way of making friends and building community. If anyone wants to host a wreath making party for Christmas at their house, or for any other holiday, let me know. That would be a lot of fun, and I would enjoy teaching that. I’ve made hundreds of wreaths through the years all different styles and materials. *One of my all time favorite jobs was working as a silk flower florist for Michael’s Arts and Crafts. Customers would pick out supplies and bring it to my counter, and I would make it for them. I loved it.
