Happy Friday lovelies!

Top Tip... Make sure your photographer captures all those finer details... the invites, the jewellery, the tiny buttons on your dress... the SHOES! There have been a few galleries I've looked through where the focus is very portrait heavy, and very little (almost no) detail shots are present. Of course capturing people and moments is key, but it would be such a shame if all of these beautiful finer details have their moment to shine too 💙

For on of our couple's last year... sustainability and environmental consciousness was key. This was a key part of the brief whilst planning and it was great to be a part of reducing the carbon footprint that such a huge event can have.

Some elements we implemented were...
• Locally sourced food
• Locally grown flowers
• Planters used where possible over cut flowers
• Tree saplings given as favours
• Place names printed on seeded paper with guests encouraged to take them home and plant - producing wildflowers for the bees and butterflies!

Throwing it back to the incredible reception of A&S and their Bulgarian Folk Dancers. Was an absolute blast seeing the Nigerian and Bulgarian cultures

Fusion weddings are so much fun and I love nothing more than seeing two cultures come together and celebrate one another. S's Bulgarian and A's Nigerian family and friends loved this (as did I!!)

So apparently today is the most depressing day of the year... but my moto for 2024 is 'reframe'.

So with that in mind I thought I'd share a little Monday motivation and some ideas on how you can reframe 'Blue Monday' into 'Something Blue Monday' because, weddings... obviously 😜

• Small wins
If you're feeling overwhelmed with how many things you have yet to do, focus on one or two small things you can tick off your to do list today. If you haven't written a to do list - that can be your first thing and give yourself a tick straight off! Seeing things achieved, even small things, has a big impact.

• Reward yourself
Whether it's with a warm bath, a walk around the local park or a chocolate biscuit and a book on the sofa - make some time to reward yourself for achieving those small goals and you get a double dopamine hit!

• Get active
Put New Order's Blue Monday on your headphones, crank it up loud and dance around your kitchen! Then when you've collapsed into a chair, sweaty and with a smile on your face, stay in Spotify or Apple Music and start a playlist for your big day, hen do or a playlist to keep you motivated in your wedmin moments.

• Gratitude
Write down three things you're grateful for today and take a moment to appreciate them. Take it one step further by sending a message out to someone you're grateful to... it will boost their dopamine as well as yours.

And remember... wedding planning should be fun. So if it's giving you the blues instead of the something blues, don't suffer through it - get help from a wedding planner! We can take that stress off your shoulders and leave you feeling lighter and more able to enjoy the lead up to the day you've been dreaming of 💙

Not quite sure how we're already 2 weeks deep into 2024... saying 2024 feels like we're i some kind of science fiction movie and don't get me started on how terrifying it is to think how long ago the 90's was 🤯

These lads knew what they were doing, 'that look' was definitely one for effect 😆 but I have worked with grooms from both ends of the scale. From those who had never even attended a wedding before and were like rabbits in the headlights... to those who had taken the lead in the planning and knew the schedule detail (almost!) as well as me!

Let's talk wedding dresses!

✨ Are you all for glitz and glamour, or something more simple and understated?
✨ Traditional in style or something more contemporary?
✨ Taking an entourage with you to shop for it, or going it alone?
✨ Adamant you know what you'll get, or open to seeing what the bridal consultant suggests?

I've worked with brides with so many different styles and I love to see how the right dress brings a bride to life! Although shopping for the perfect dress can sometimes seem overwhelming or intimidating, with the right people around you it can undoubtedly be one of the most fun parts of your planning journey!

I've been a little quiet over here the past few weeks but promise to be more present in the new year.

We lost my father in law recently so things have been tough and of course, family comes first. I've been honoured to be a part of weddings where couples are missing a loved one and it makes me so grateful that we had him with us to celebrate ours.

I'm under no illusion that this time of year is difficult for so many people for all sorts of reasons. Please know that my DMs are always open if anyone wants a safe space to talk, vent, laugh or cry... I'm with you all the way!
