I can usually tell from the first email a couple sends me what their wedding day is going to be like. Three words that sprang to mind when I first spoke to Natalya and Dean were “FUN AS F***” (and “where’s my invite?!).

I first met Sig back in my PR days when we were colleagues (turned trauma bonded friends 😆) so when Morgan (FINALLY) popped the question I was very much ready to put something fun together for these two lovebirds. Sig is a huge fan of a Nina red rose so we planned their whole palette around it.

✨IT'S HERE! OUR BRAND NEW WEBSITE IS LIVE ✨

To say I'm excited to share this with you is a massive understatement. This has been a huge labour of love, a big lesson in patience and a lot of emotions in between.

You know that moment in Miss Congeniality when Sandra Bullock struts out of her makeover looking like an absolute QUEEN. I'm feeling that vibe right now (the bit before she falls flat on her face).

But this is more than just a new look for SUB.SUBTLE. After planning my own wedding I realised it's so much more than the day itself. Its months (sometimes years) of planning and that's where the magic begins to happen. So this glow up was an opportunity to up the ante and give you an elevated experience right from the start of your journey with us.

We've got new ways of working, new systems and loads of exciting things to come!

Firstly I just want to say I found naming my business really freaking hard guys!

I remember when I first said the name out loud to my husband he was like eh what?! Then I got dramatically annoyed, rolled my eyes and said "ergh you don't get it" and sulked out of the room (yes I can be a child sometimes).

But the more I said it to him, it kinda grew on us both so here I am - awkwardly spelling my business name out a minimum of 3 times before anyone gets it 🙈

Let's break it down - SUB (below) // SUBTLE (barely noticeable, not obvious, indistinct)

So what does it mean?

Well, it's a little wink to the fact that subtlety isn't our jam. We're all about crafting vibrant, playful, and utterly unique weddings that celebrate your love story. We're not here for cookie-cutter weddings. Instead, we're all about helping you create a day that's as extraordinary as your love.

Our design philosophy: vibrant, eye-popping florals combined with textures and unique elements. Styling that's not afraid to be fun, playful, wildly romantic and sometimes a little bit unexpected.

So that's SUB.SUBTLE - we're here to help create the wedding of your dreams - for modern, fun and wildly in love couples.

What a fabulously autumnal day to celebrate these two love birds. The road into the farm was lined with all the same delicious colours and ingredients we used in the florals. Super seasonal, warm and romantic.

5 LESSONS FROM PLANNING MY OWN WEDDING

I'm going to be honest, before I got married when couples would tell me that their wedding day was the best day of their lives... I was kind of skeptical. Like surely a Euro summer abroad would be better no?

I can happily confirm that actually yes, our wedding day is definitley number 1 in the core memory bank (phew!)

After having some time to reflect, there are a few things I wanted to share with you that might help along your wedding planning journey.

1. If it doesn't spark joy don't do it.
Marie Kondo was onto something - there are so many traditions that come hand in hand with weddings but if they don't feel right for you then don't do it.

2. If you don't know what your priorities are you will get overwhelmed.
Figure out your top 3-5 priorities so you can always come back to what's most important to you. Ours were: Delicious food, free flowing drinks, an epic dancefloor and fun styling (well the last one was more a me thing).

3. You will at some point feel sick about your budget
Especially around the time all of your final deposits are due.This is where I found our top priorities were super handy because if we had to make any decisions we could refer back to what we really wanted out of our day.

4. The planning timeline feels a bit like a rollercoaster.
It's a but of a slower uphill ride while your booking everything in. Then you coast for a bit. Then when you're getting closer to the time you're flying downhill (there may be some screaming but hopefully not too much) - the last bit goes so quickly and before you know it your wedding day is here.

5. The personal touches are the things that make your wedding day you.
This is where styling can really help make your wedding day more you by adding personal touches!

😯 POV: You want to wow your guests on your wedding day 😯

INVEST IN STATEMENT PIECES!

If you really want the wow factor on your wedding day, it’s best to allocate the majority of your styling budget on one or two bigger moments throughout your ceremony and reception rather than lots of smaller pieces.

This flower cave doubled as a ceremony backdrop, a photo area and a fun space for guests to dance and mingle amongst the flowers. So lots of bang for your budget!

Tablescaping for M&H 🩵

This one was a delicious mix of split pea mini-mounds complemented by beautiful hand torn menus by and velvet ribbon napkin ties for each guest to enjoy.

A MOMENT FOR THE BOUQUET

Here’s the tea on your bridal bouquet. I mentally have to prepare myself to create it… It’s definitely not just a matter of whipping it together.

What’s running through my mind:
🧐Is this the perfect size and shape for your dress, we absolutely don’t want to distract from the gown!

🧐 Is every flower ready for the main event… prepped and conditioned to be outta water and looking as fabulous as possible.

🧐 What does it look like from every single angle - you’ll be working all them all day!

🧐 Is there lots of gorgeous movement for interest while you’re frolicking around with your friends and fam?

🧐 Why has that stem moved, it was in exactly the right place one second ago..?! Oh there we go!

🧐 I hope you like it, I hope you like it, what if you don’t like it, surely you’ll like it, it’s cute right? Omg I think you’ll like it.

Look, there’s a whole lotta love (and maybe a bit of anxiety) that goes into something that’s fit for you to walk down the aisle.

Worth it though! 💜❤️
