Not only did Hillary understand every last detail, but she anticipated and recommended additions to my look that even I had not thought about. Beyond the ability to take an image in my head, design it, and fit it PERFECTLY on my body, Hillary worked tirelessly up until minutes before I walked down the aisle to make sure the dress fit like a glove.

Many times, fabric shopping is the first step in the design process. I'm evaluating things like color, texture, drape, how it's reacting to touch, to light, and how it will feel on the skin. I feel very lucky to have access to such beautiful qualities, as well as innovative novelties, here in NYC.

Help us decide which color to offer next!

But first some background....
Hilandel’s Willow Skirt was created for two reasons.

First: Our custom brides need something to wear for the events surrounding their wedding or, as a fantastic bridesmaid option [your friends will want to wear again!]

A Colorful Delight.

The longer I do this work, the more 'non-traditional' my brides get, which is really exciting for me as a designer and a feminist.

It's so refreshing to create things for cool women who want to be wholly themselves, whether that's in how they want to look and feel or the boundaries they draw around their priorities for the day.

Went to an incredible event yesterday at hosted by .and.lynn and

It's not surprising to me that the only photos I took all day were of these impressive florals.

Because...
1. They are beautiful and inspiring. (That's WHY I took the photo because they were so interesting, and I wanted to remember them.)
2. I was having too much fun (meeting new friends, having honest and vulnerable conversations, and absorbing knowledge from the speakers) to possibly remember to document any other part of the day.

This is a perfect metaphor for who I am in work and life. As an artist in a world that is so virtual, I understand the importance of sharing things here on social media... but as I say all the time, "I cannot be a guest at a party that I'm hosting."
When I'm getting inspired, sourcing materials, in creation, and working 1:1 with my clients, I get into a flow state. "Creating content" is the furthest thing from my mind, and to be completely honest, the pressure to do so pulls me away from my "zone of genius." 😉 (nod to

All of this to say, there is a lot going on behind the scenes because MOST everything is happening behind the scenes. I had a great time at , and if anyone who was there could please share this florist with me so I can credit their beautiful work, I'd be grateful.
