Here we are, the last SPEED 速度 at Misc artist announcement for our upcoming showcase at MISCELLANIA on Saturday, 22nd July 2023, 9 PM - 3AM. We are very excited to say that we've been able to lock in a friend of SPEED and SPEED Mix series favourite, Kaytseng.

Ever since making the jump from Taipei to Naarm, the often dark, gritty and playful nuances of Kaytseng continue to impress and amaze the city's electronic music community. Capable of exhibiting a blend of everything from floor-shaking techno beats to high-speed trance rhythms, Kay has secured a multitude of high-profile slots in recent years - supporting the likes of Mama Snake, DJ Spit & Schacke as well as performing regularly across Naarm's most loved venues and raves.

I wanted to make this post a few weeks ago but it took me a while to put my thoughts into words…
I was quite nervous when making this mix, because I felt like it sounded different from what I used to play only a few months back, when I first got approached by the people behind CRUDE . I know my sound is constantly changing throughout time and sometimes I do get worried that people might not like it.
Because of that, seeing my mix being chosen by Resident Advisor and receiving such an amazing feedback by so many people gave me a lot of reassurance regarding my choices and also made me incredibly happy!

Well, it certainly has been quite the hiatus since our last event!

Safe to say we're chomping at the bit and more ready than ever to throw down in true EQUINOX style.

Watching the scene come back to life in recent months has filled us with so much joy but for us it was always a case of coming back at the opportune moment; with an offering that pushes the boundaries of what constitutes a true all-encompassing experience.

In order to do so, we are returning full of energy and ideas to 524 Flinders, a venue that holds a special place in our heart following our running of the venue's inaugural event.

On that occasion, we were celebrating our 2nd anniversary; on this one, we are celebrating our 5th and seriously upping the ante with 'The Nexus' - a unique, state-of-the-art lighting/stage installation that we have put everything on the line to produce.

Pair this with a carefully assembled lineup of some of the city's most talented contributors, and you can begin to fantasize about the immersive experience we're creating here.

There's no need to curb your enthusiasm: we mean serious business.

We are finally free from what it felt like an endless lockdown here in Melbourne! Even though we are still craving for all the music events, it's a huge relief to be able to leave home freely!
Back in March, when Covid started affecting our lives, I believed that a long pause from DJing was ahead of me but instead I had lots of opportunities with podcasts and online radio shows!
I would like to thank everyone who invited me on their shows and everyone who listened. I had so much pleasure in recording each one of these mixes and this has been a huge source of motivation during these hard times!

While we are all still waiting for our precious clubs to reopen, I hope these last three mixes I recorded can spice up your Saturday nights!

Our 10th transmission again takes us back to our Melbourne Launch party at the very very sadly missed Crazy Arms and was recorded by Melbourne-based Taiwanese DJ, Kaytseng. Somehow through all the sweat and vibes this mix was recovered and we are able to share the original recording with you for Her Transmission 010.

Kaytseng was born in Taiwan but now resides in Melbourne and is a regular on the Melbourne DJ circuit with her alternation between jumpy and jagged electro, Heavy pounding techno and aggressive EBM.
