A labour of love. Ham hock and apple bon bon, brioche, pickled red onion and squash purée. Sometimes the simple and classic flavours just work. A little tip for when making croquettes, providing they’re not vegan. Add some grated sharp cheddar cheese. It adds a subtle richness and helps keep in lots of moisture. As time consuming as they are to prepare, it’s all the worth while when plates come back clean.

I get my beet with you. This lovely beet and walnut salad is complimented with beetroot ketchup and truffle honey. Blackberries and candy walnuts are cushioned against candy beets and sleep on a bed of whipped goats cheese. If you don’t like beetroot, you will do now. Couples (sometimes with parents) are invited to our HQ in Putney .coffee.and.kitchen to taste a selection of canapés, 2 starters, 2 mains and a dessert. Not only do guests get to try our food they also get to meet some of the team. A tasting session with a caterer is absolutely essential in making sure you’ve selected to right people to cater for your big day! We’re super proud to have catered for the Oxford & Cambridge boat race for the organisers. We were tasked with creating a British menu. And we LOVE designing bespoke menus! This was one of the dishes “Aunty Margaret’s Cottage Pie”. Margaret was one of our directors aunty. She was a phenomenal cook and would often make cottage pie. Although we didn’t follow Margaret’s exact recipe, we created our own with short rib, brisket and wagyu miso supplied by . The dish was a success and it was a brilliant fun day.

We thought it would be a good idea to do a post, as it’s been quite some time since we have. Last summer we learnt that our kitchen was due to be knocked down for development. So, we naturally set out to find a new home. Well, we did, have, found that home. We have moved to gorgeous Putney. Where, we not only have our new kitchen to prep for events, our new HOME is also an eatery and event space. We opened our doors on the 4th January. And to say it’s already been a journey is a complete understatement. So, for anyone that might be wondering where the Piptree gang have gone…. You can find us in the comments below. If you’re in the area, come and say hello, have a speciality coffee and maybe a spot of locally sourced artisan brunch…. For all event catering enquiries, please use the normal channels!!
