And just like that you are 3000 following me … I still can’t believe I wake up every day and get to do my dream job. A job I couldn’t be more passionate about.
It was my sister’s wedding last weekend and it reminded why I always loved weddings, why I’m doing a job I never thought was real and I thought it was the perfect time to tell you my story and how I fell in love with weddings.
I come from a very big family and we’ve always had weddings during the summer. I couldn’t count how many times I’ve been a flower girl or “enfant d’honneur” as they say in French. I would always be super excited to be invited, to see my cousins again, to wear a pretty dress, to dance under the stars, to fell asleep on a couch by the dance floor… I think, all these magical moments are my favorite childhood memories. I remember thinking when I was a teenager and 27 dresses was my favorite movie that I would be like Jane, I’ll have a real job during the day and at night I’ll help my cousins and friends organize their weddings.
The best part is to see the different looks on my couples’ faces – it brings me so much joy. When they see each other for the 1st time walking down the aisle, when they see all their guests gathered around them, when they try the food they selected or when they discover the table design we’ve been working on for months … The expression in their eyes is worth everything and when I go to bed at night I gotta the feeling I made a difference in their life by helping them have the best day they could hope for.
I couldn’t be happier with the choices I made and where I am today. I still love weddings (maybe even more now) – The ones I organize and the ones I am invited to (even when it’s both in my sister’s case haha).
Long story short, be yourself, believe in your dreams and don’t hesitate to give it a shot … You never know, it can actually work and change your life!
