So I posted a video trying out the DIY slug repellent method a few months ago and have been using it weekly since then...

The results have been a massive success! Particularly in those shady spots in the garden where I usually struggle to grow anything!

Smell aside, I would definitely recommend giving this method a go!

✨ ONE WEEK TO GO ✨

I would love to see some familiar faces alongside some lovely new ones as I take part in my first craft fair where I will be selling a variety of home grown cottage garden plants, cultivated houseplants and a variety of fresh floral bouquets using my own locally grown flowers wherever possible. 🌿

I am a local florist based only two miles from Elsecar so I am excited to meet lots of new faces and showcase my passion for locally grown. 🥰

Sun shining, birds chirping and a WHOLE LOTTA growth down at the plot!

But there is something about morning watering that is so peaceful ☀️

✨ SNEAK PEAK ✨

I am holding my first summer craft fair in a few weeks that will showcase an array of home grown, home cultivated and hand made goodies. All lovingly created by us.

Here's a sneak-peak at some of our house plants, ready planted in these beautiful vintage terracotta pots 😍

Another job bites the dust, and a very dusty job it was too!

- Removing the slabs and 3 layers of concrete
- Preparing the ground (This will be a no-dig bed once the later material is added but it was as hard as stone initially!)
- Adding top soil and multipurpose compost
- Planting an array of colourful annuals!

This bed is going to take time to introduce nutrients back into the soil but it's well on its way to growing us some beautiful blooms with a few cheeky vegetable plants hiding away in there because my son and I do love a treasure hunt! 😆

Creating the farewell flowers that sit pride of place.

It is always an honour to create something so reflective of the individuals life that is being celebrated. Sunflowers, and a natural feel to the design to commemorate this gentleman and his love of gardening.

My first Dahlia cuttings ✂️

A first attempt but I have listed the advice I have followed...
- Use a clean, sharp knife to prevent bacterial spread
- Take some of the tuber with the cutting to encourage root growth
- Remove excess left to minimise perspiration
- Rooting powder helps to promote root growth
- Water well
