Last April, I had my first vinyl-only gigs at and .nu for .nl. This inspired me to start collecting records and mastering vinyl mixing. I started with vinyl mixing lessons last Tuesday, thanks to the amazing guidance from .
I am always open for feedback and tips and tricks. So please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any feedback or other leads.✌🏼

Last weekend was my first ever vinyl DJ set. 🎶 Nervous? Absolutely. Fun? Totally! Mistakes made? Sure thing. But learned that passion and dedication matter more than ‘perfect’ mixing.
Vinyl enabled me to feel connected to music in another way than when playing the digital way. You are conscious of every action. Choosing the right record, placing it on the turntable, placing the needle, and picking the perfect moment to transition to the next track. It’s been a truly enriching experience for me, inspiring me to further develop in this area.
I will challenge myself to diving deeper into vinyl DJing, while gradually building a record collection.
Shoutout to and for the guidance and the opportunities. Already looking forward to next time! 😌

This year marks the fifth year of my DJ journey. And that seemed like a great time to take a very exciting (and scary) new step in my career…
As ‘DJ Deugniet’ I have experienced wonderful things over the past years and I have played at many great venues. I am very grateful for all the opportunities I have had and for everyone I have worked with so far.
But it is now time for a new step. After much deliberation, I decided to change my DJ name to name that (unlike DJ Deugniet) can be pronounced in English: Pucklectic. I am aware that your sound is much more important than your DJ name, but I also realised that the name ‘DJ Deugniet’ did not fit my image anymore. By using Pucklectic, I chose a name that is still close to myself.
My sound remains the same: an eclectic mix of different genres, with a focus on soulful music.

I look forward to discovering what the future holds for me.

Finally I can share news that I am very proud of: I got the chance to host my own radio show on Birdcage Radio! It is a monthly show broadcast on Sunday afternoon. The first show is scheduled on 31 March from 14:00-16:00, so perfect for after the Easter brunch. During the show (called Soulful Sunday), I will showcase both newly discovered gems and well-known classics, as well as talk a little about the music that I play and that inspires me.
I look forward to sharing my knowledge about and passion for this music with you. In addition, I believe this new challenge contributes to the continuous journey of developing myself as an artist.

Another year passed. I remember that at the end of 2022 I felt quite insecure but also excited about what 2023 would bring. Well 2023 brought a lot… I’ve played and shared music at many amazing venues throughout the country and I met a lot of new people. I would like to thank everyone I’ve worked with this year for the opportunities and the trust. 🙏🏼

Developing my sound as an artist is a continuous process that I love. When I discover new songs and artists I like, it feels like winning a trophy each time. A trophy that I want to share with an audience while dancing together. The beauty of playing and sharing music is its ability to connect and fraternise. Something that the world we currently live in needs. 🫂
2023 was also the year of my second burn-out. Times have been very challenging for me since the end of August. That is also the reason that I have been less present on social media.
I have felt and still feel unsecure about what I want to do in the future. One thing that I know for sure is that it will be something creative and music related, as that is my passion and what makes my heart beat faster. But for now, I fully focus on my recovery. I am ready for new adventures in 2024. 🍾

We are already approaching the end of the year and I wanted to use this moment to speak out how much I appreciate everything I built up since I started in 2019. I completely found my own way in the scene and gradually built and broadened my network and asked venues if I could play and practise, before I received offers for gigs. Music enabled me to meet a lot of friendly people, make new friends and perform at many amazing venues. 🙏🏼

Currently I am in a process of broadening and deepening my musical taste. I like to explore and dig into what other sounds and genres suit me and what records I like to play. I noticed that I am slowly shifting away from the more commercial disco records I used to play in the beginning.
Lately I discovered a lot of great funk and soulful tracks and even soms Chicago house tracks that are not widely known, but therefore no less suitable for playing in radioshows, clubs or at festivals.
For me being a DJ is about taking the listener and/or dancer on a journey through amazing records. I don’t care about what genres I play, or don’t play. Music is about the feeling, energy level and flow of a track. I appreciate it to fully be in the moment and immerse yourself in the flow that music can provide. 🌊

The rest of the month December and in January I will take rest from DJ-ing. I will use this time for focusing on reflection and further developing my musical taste, so that I can kick-off 2024 more energized. 📈
I hope that my journey as DJ Deugniet continues to bring me to many beautiful venues and allowing me to meet many more amazing people that match with who I am and the music I like to play. ♥️

During the last couple of weeks it was quite a challenge for me to maintain daily routines and going out to meet friends and people.
I noticed that I yearned for connection and that I would like to broaden my horizon through music. I wanted to learn new skills, expand my network and make impact on society.
By participating in Music Moves, I managed to do so. During five courses, I received lectures about personal leadership & collaboration, event management, social work and social entrepreneurship. Finally we organised our own event in Breda for people who often have to miss the party. In a small group we organised a music workshop and creative activities for elderly suffering from dementia.
I enjoyed participating in this program and it was very rewarding to see the smiles on the faces of the eldery we organized an event for.
