This is the feeling you want your family and friends to have at the end of your big day.
Yes, the day is about (and should focus on) the two of you. BUT that doesn’t mean you should make it the most stressful day for everyone else.
By hiring professional vendors, you alleviate the stress and VERY long day from those you love most. Trust me, the work will fall on someone. You can’t be in two places at once, and if you want your mom and bestie to be by your side- hire the professionals.

I can’t think of a better way to kick off summer than with these gorgeous peonies, incredible people, and an insane dance party.
Paige and Adam had the best day! The rain cleared *just in time* for a beautiful beach ceremony, and let me tell you something… Michigan people know how to party! 🥂 Cheers to the new Mr. and Mrs.!!!

We're at PYC today for a beautiful military wedding -- definitely one for the books!
Have you been to PYC yet?
It is one of the many beautiful historic sites in this great city that I love, and the best part... it's right on the water and always has a wonderful breeze.

Do you NEED to have a sign for your sparkler send off?
No, not you don't.
Is it a REALLY great idea to have one?
Yes, yes it is.
Why?
Well, its super cute.... but in addition to adding to the fun decor, it helps your guests know what's in store for the night. Especially for older guests, or those that need to leave early etc... Knowing how much longer the party will be going may just keep them around to the end!

Details, details....
having all of your details (vows, jewelry, bouquet, veil, garter, perfume etc...anything you want a picture taken of) ready and in one spot for your photographer *when they arrive* can make a huge difference with your timeline (and your stress level).
Be sure to gather everything the day before, bonus points if you have a beautiful keepsake box to put it all in.
Also keep in mind that every photographer is different with the time they need for these types of photos. It really is a form of art, and art is always better when it's not rushed. Be sure to discuss the time they need and build it into your timeline for the day.

Searching for the right venue and want to know what to look for???
1. Breathing Room... how many people does the space fit? What's the square footage?
2. Where's it gonna go... picture where you would place everything in the space you have. Where's the food gonna go? Is there a space for the catering staff? Is there room for a band or DJ?
3. When I reeaallllyyy GOTTA GO....where's the closest bathroom? and are there enough for the size group you have?

****Budget saving BONUS-- is there space for a rain plan? Tents are expensive, but if you have to use one- see if you can find a company that will let you put a "rain deposit" on a tent.
*Just so you know.... does 😉 and it really makes my budget conscience planner heart happy 😍

My take on a Bridesmaid Brunch:
1. I absolutely adore this tradition.
2. It's always such a beautiful event, perfect to go over the top with girlie details (SEE PHOTOS).
3. A Bridesmaid's Brunch is meant to shower your Bridesmaids with love (NOT THE BRIDE).

Please keep this in mind ladies. It can be tough and expensive work being a bridesmaid, this is the perfect opportunity for a Bride to really show her ladies how much they mean to her. It's the best time to hand out gifts to them and personalized notes.
This is usually done the morning before the wedding, but it can be done anytime that works for everyone involved.
If you are graciously hosting a brunch, please be sure that the honoree is not the bride.

I would imagine looking at my fiance and saying our vows-- it honestly would get me choked up every time.

"I, ________, take you,________, to be my lawfully wedded husband. To have and to hold. From this day forward...."

Stop worrying about the rain.
The BEST thing you can do is make a rain plan that you don't mind using if it comes down to it.
99% of the time- when we have that in our back pocket, we don't end up having to use it-- and the STRESS goes away.
You can't control it. Make your peace with it and move forward.
(doesn't hurt to think this through before booking a venue too 😉 )

Ask your florist about making your bridesmaids bouquets "petite" to save a little money on flowers but still get a beautiful look.

You will have to talk to them about the exact size, but typically they will compare the size of the top of the bouquet to plate sizes (dinner plate, salad plate etc)
You may look a little weird holding up plates like a bouquet, but you won't look weird when pay for exactly what you want on your wedding day 😎
Plus... large bouquets are HEAVY ... just sayin 😅

Things to have a plan for at the end of the night:
Extra Food/Desserts are one of the items many Brides forget to plan for.
Don't want ANY leftover Dessert coming home with you at the end of the night?
Purchase take home boxes for guests to take a bite with them for later- it's always a hit with guests, and so far has always done the trick of getting the leftovers distributed evenly.

Another top tip to not have leftovers? Hire a fantastic baker like and guests will be dying to get extras 😉

I hope you were able to RELAX some over the holiday!
'Soft seating' or 'Lounge furniture' is it a must? or a waste of space and money.... I think that completely depends on your *priorities*. Does your budget allow for it? Is 'guest experience' high on your must have list? If yes, then I highly recommend looking into it. I love the look of a good lounge set, and the feeling of comfort it provides to guests (plus it can help with overflow guest seating 😉 always an ulterior motive)

It's my Birthday!!! and while I won't tell you how old I am this year 😏 I will tell you that I love dessert.
What works best as dessert at a wedding?
A variety, anything really, in mini form, with lots of options. Get a small cake for the two of you to cut and then get all your favorites lined up for your guests to pick from!
Popular picks:
donuts
mini pudding/dessert cups
cookies
cookie cake
macaroons
candy
cotton candy
pie
cupcakes
and cake (of course!)

*Even better-- personalize it to the two of you! Do you absolutely love popsicles? or Meet at a coffee shop that has *the best* cinnamon rolls? Make that your dessert! Your guests are there to celebrate the two of YOU-- any extra insights into who you are and what you love, your guests will love, and it will make your wedding one of a kind.

When you think "DIY Wedding" do you automatically assume a hodgepodge decor, lack of design or style, and everyone running around frantic and stressed out??
I want to change that mentality against DIY.
As a professional wedding planner I do believe you need guidance-- doing anything for the first time can get tricky at times-- but being stressed out for your entire engagement shouldn't be your only option.
I have found the middle ground in wedding planning, and I want to help you have a stress free engagement.
