Meet Chris + Nikole!

Chris and Nikole Yates found inspiration to launch their mobile beer fridge, Y8S TAPS, when they encountered the roaming Bubble Bus bar at a Canyon Falls gathering. Since receiving their tailor-made 18-foot trailer, their new venture has flourished, offering a variety of craft beers and cocktails at events across Canyon Falls and the wider North Texas region.

The concept of Y8S TAPS originated from a Canyon Falls event that featured Bubble Bus, a mobile bar operating out of vintage VW buses, a 1955 Pontiac, and other distinctive vehicles.

“We were in line with our neighbors getting drinks when Nikole and I couldn’t help but admire the old bus,” Chris recalled. “Given our love for tailgating at games and concerts, the idea of a mobile bar seemed really appealing.”

This seed was planted in 2020, around the time Chris, a CPA at a Denton company, began contemplating launching his own small business. Meanwhile, Nikole had already ventured into entrepreneurship with .nikole after a nine-year accounting career.

In October 2022, the dream materialized as the Yates family took delivery of a custom 18-foot trailer.

“We envisioned it and brought it to life,” shared Chris, who initially favored “sweet umbrella drinks” before acquiring a taste for beer.

Named Y8S TAPS, the company pays homage to the family name and its standout feature, an eight-tap kegerator with individual regulators for each tap. The trailer also boasts a bar fridge with a glass door.

Chris curates a diverse beer selection, often highlighting local craft breweries like Three Wide Brewing and False Idol.

Since its launch, Y8S TAPS has experienced a rise in bookings for private parties, festivals, tailgates, and various events. They debuted at the Canyon Falls Summer ‘23 Kick-Off Party and returned for the Brews for Dudes social event on Father’s Day weekend.

Y8S TAPS operates as a genuine family enterprise, with sons Hayden and Hudson frequently assisting by serving juice boxes, Gatorade, and water.
