This is the compromise your guests get when I say "it's an Unplugged ceremony".

A moment at the beginning of the ceremony for your guests to whip their phones out pretend they're the paparazzi and you're the celebrity couple.

WHY I love this (and my couples).

✨Its set the expectation this THIS ceremony isn't a "stiff, formal" proceeding.

Ceremony moments with Darryn and Karen 🩵

It started a little something like this... 📜

"As Darryn was charmingly but nervously dancing around Karen and her friends - Darryn saw a spark in Karen and through the beats of the music and mingling of friends, Darryn leant over to introduced himself to Karen as… well.. “Darryn” – For which Karen giddily responded “ME TOO”!!!!...
Through the loud music, that’s an easy mistake right?

As Darryn was yet to discover Karen's real name, this impression only left Darren finding Karen “strange but unique” and they continued dancing!

The night went on — Darryn was dragged away by his friends and it was as Karen went to seek out her dance partner she immediately started to feel like she read the signs wrong — as Darryn was now acting uninterested and ignoring her!
COMPLETELY confused and somewhat disheartened, Karen gathered her things and took off home…

Yet, fate, or perhaps a little bit of online stalking, brought them back together AND finally Karen saw there was a complete misunderstanding as she discovered Darryn has a twin brother WHO also was at the party that night!"

I had SO much fun sharing in Karen and Darryn's day with themselves, friends and family - One of the best brides' tribes round around too! Totally had their girls back 😘

Always always grab yourself at least a dozen of these to spread the shade around when you’re choosing to get married in the summer time (spring and autumn would be great too)!

When you book me to MC 👇🏼

We will run through your rough timeline or idea of proceedings when we have our initial planning meeting (2-3 months out from your wedding).
When we do this I get to sprinkle my knowledge, experience and modern ideas to help bring together a reception flow that feels INCREDIBLE, relaxed and fun to you both.

Within the week of your day, we catch up again to go over finalised notes and timings plus add any last minute notes I feel will help me breeze through the evening.

On the night, after celebranting for you, I will usually be floating around the reception space sussing out where everything is and ready as discussed, cross check runsheets with the venue coordinator, fix anything that may be a stray and gather any bits of info (like guest book, disposable cameras etc) to remind your guests of.

After getting your guests settled then my MCing hat is switched on.
I make sure we stick as close to the runsheet timings as possible. Make up time where we need, communicate speeches approaching with vendors and yourselves, have a little fun where I see the opportunity with your guests - but ultimately ensure you have the most memorable night without any hassles.

Once the dancing is well and truely started and the formalities are over, little Ash here makes her was home for her beauty sleep, drifting off while dreaming of the incredible afternoon/evening I’ve just had with you two 🥰

Moments like these with Lance and Mia were so special… I loved being there for them on THEIR day after learning all about them, making it a honour to bring together and present a ceremony that was ALL about them… it was all the little bits of detail and info shared that I loved knowing as it allowed me to feel more connected and genuine in my approach to being there and getting them married.

The legal stuff - What’s involved?

Firstly with me as your civil marriage celebrant you don’t have to worry about a thing. No matter what package you choose I take care of ensuring everything is signed, sealed and delivered (if I may 😘).

First. You must gather your valid passports OR Drivers license and Birth Certificate to provide to your celebrant in order to complete the Notice of Intent to Marry (NOIM). This is to be signed and witnessed by an authorised person to then be received by your celebrant NO LATER than 31 days prior your wedding. I like to ensure we have this finalised no later than 60 days out.

Secondly. As close to your ceremony as possible, before you meet to marry, you must both sign the Declaration of no legal impediment with your celebrant. I prefer to do this either at your rehearsal, the week of when we meet (if we can) or at the bridal prep space and ceremony site for the groom.

Thirdly. I/we do the legal ceremonial things:
1) Celebrant Address (spoken by your celebrant)
2) The Monitum (spoken by your celebrant)
3) Your legal vows (spoken by you)

Fourth/ly? Through the “signing of the registry” at your ceremony with your two witnesses over the ages of 18, we sign 2 x’s official certificates of marriage and 1 certificate of marriage (the commemorative one you keep on the day).

I elaborate more in this in all due course after booking with me, but this is the legals covered in a nut shell 😘

A moment with the boys…

In these moments before the bride and her tribe arrives I take a moment as the guys are settling to run thought any ceremony announcements (phones away, social sharing rules, what to expect following, and anything else that’s relevant as discussed when we were planning).

Then it’s checking in with our groom… How’s the nerves, how’s his mates feeling/ looking/ supporting and sharing any last minute words of reassurance, calming or simply talking about the most random things because I can sense a distraction might be good in this moment 😉

THE WITNESS LOTTERY! What is it?

Firstly, I won't claim this idea as mine - I've inherited it for my couples who want to add a bit of fun and excitement to their wedding ceremony OR you are the couple who are stumped when I ask, "Who have you thought about to be your witnesses?"!

The reactions to this are my FAVOURITE!

Each party draw a name from the selection of your guests who's been popped into the hat and as you announce your witness the reactions can be priceless.

Your guests are hanging onto the edge of their seats... You call their name, and they are either filled with PURE excitement OR in ABSOLUTE disbelief you'd want them to do such an honorable job. AND you my dear lover are too ANTICIPATING who you will draw and JUST as shocked and overjoyed by your cheekiness of even doing such a thing!

Bek and Aris (and their witnesses) nailed all these reactions 😁

The stage was set, the melody’s were calming and the nervs were being checked in!

Mikala and Sam had 160 guests along to enjoy the moment of getting married and celebrating after at Caves Coastal Bar & Bungalows (my biggest ceremony crowd to date and it was vibing!)

7 years MARRIED today 🥰🤍 Seriously the best day spent with my one and only. It’s the moments through the ceremony that did it for me with this one. Lauren and Harri gave me JUICE in their responses to form their love story. It’s what I need to craft a beautiful, sentimental love story and truely personalise any ceremony. But they also had their mums join the ceremony as they brought forth their rings after they warmed them… as we know, in most situations our mums are the ones who raise us, guide us and ultimately think of us 24/7 so when Harri and Lauren came to me and asked me to make this last minute change to their script (literally within 24hours haha) I was totally on board. April and Simon 🤍✨ Fate drew these two together… Back in April of 2016 Simon slid into April’s DM’s and their relationship started to form… April first actually met Simon for his connecting flight through Sydney one time - 10 minutes of real connection and knowing this guy wasn’t catfishing her, she knew this was going to grow into something more. BUT Simon lived in Melbs and April in Newy… Fate knocked on the door again as Simon got up to antics that left him jobless… that’s another story we will leave 😄 not long after, he happened to visit April for a weekend in Newy and she threw out there, “just try and get a job here”… and we’ll, Fate, kept them together… Now a family of three, almost 6 months happily married, you can say this is a couple was destined to marry one other.
