JJ Lopez and Dj Plata aka The San Antonio Yacht Rock Society will be doing our thing and taking over The Historic Pearl tomorrow evening! Free listening and dance party in the main courtyard so bring the kids, family, all your friends and get Yachty with us! It's another ALL VINYL Dj set for your listening and dancing pleasures. Food by local restaurants of The Pearl and Beer and Cocktails as well from the Food Court. Bring your own lawn chairs and blankets to get comfy on the lawn if you want. See you there to dance the sunset away!

Yacht Rock Live!

In 1978 Nicolette Larson hit #1 on the Billboard Easy-Listening charts with her cover of Neil Young's "Lotta Love." The single was recorded for the Warner Bros. record label and featured on her debut Lp, Nicolette. This is a great example of the Disco and Easy Listening qualities of Yacht Rock!

Peep a few classic recordings like "Minute by Minute" by the Doobie Brothers or Christopher Cross' "Say You'll Be Mine" and you're sure to hear Nicolette Larson on backing vocals!

Michael McDonald has the distinction of being an artist whose musical contribution has impacted and brightened so many others artist's recordings, bringing strength and soul to their own classics. Steely Dan, The Doobie Brothers, Christopher Cross and Stephen Bishop, all Yacht Rock legends, featured Michael McDonald in their band throughout the 1970s.

Eddie Money Yacht Rock Alert!

'Maybe I'm A Fool' was featured on Eddie's second Lp, Life for the Taking for the Columbia record label in 1978. The story goes that Eddie loved the song and would rehearse the tune while on tour during sound checks, ultimately cutting it to single and later featuring it on his second album becoming the hit!

We want to say Rest In Peace to a legend - Eddie Money. He produced some of the most memorable music of the late 1970s and 1980s. Here's Eddie on the Dutch broadcast TopPop in 1978 performing 'Two Tickets Two Paradise.'
