Mechanics and Guideline:

A. The contest is open to all bands who meet these two conditions:

1. The band as a group and/or any of its individual member who has been part or member of another band in the past has not and has never signed any recording contract with a music/record label whether local,international,national, or independent before joining or during this contest.

2. The band as a group has not won as Champion in 2023 Musiklaban Battle of the Band Competition in Barangay Lamao.

B. Each band will perform with a minimum time limit of ten (10) minutes and maximum of fifteen (15) minutes including the preparation and exit of the band equipments. Beyond this limit, a total of three (3) points will be deducted from the group's total score.

C. Each group will have a minimum of five (5) and a maximum of eight (8) members.

D. The members of the group may be composed of all males or females, or any combination thereof.

E. Each band must play the following three songs in English, Filipino or Tagalog in this specific order:

- The first song must be an Original Pilipino Music. It must be an original composition with original lyrics and melody/music.

- The second song must be a cover song categorized in Classic Love Songs.

- The last song must be any cover song of the band's choice.

F. The band must bring their own band equipment except for the drum set, bass amplifier and guitar amplifier which will be provided by the event organizers.

G. Bands will be solely responsible for the safekeeping of their band equipment.

Submission of Entry

I. Duly filled-out entry form must be submitted on or before July 31,2024 to the email address [email protected] on or before July 31,2024.

J. Each band will submit photocopy of 1 valid id of every member and group photo of the band to [email protected] on or before July 31, 2024.

K. Only the first twelve (12) bands to submit their complete requirements on or before July 31, 2024 will be accepted as the official contestants of Barangay Lamao Musiklaban 2024.

L.The contest mechanics may be revised as necessary subject to the concensus of all the official contestants and approval of the contest organizer.

Contest Proper

M. All participants must be on the venue at exactly 5:00 PM. Drawlots will be at exactly 6PM. All late comers has a deduction of five points (5pts) in overall score.

N. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.

O. Event organizers and Barangay Council of Lamao will not be responsible for any injury sustained by the band members due to recklessness and/or misbehavior during competition.

P. The following are the prohibitions of this contest. Violation of any or all of the following will automatically disqualify the band from the contest even if it has already performed.

- use of pre-recorded music of any kind during the actual/live performance

- Lyrics and/or adlibs with political meanings,propaganda, and/or undertones and lyrics and/or adlibs of obscenities and/or inciting violence/rebellion/riot and the like,whether explicit or implied

- use of any alcoholic and/or illegal substance before or during the contest.

Q. Organizing committee will not entertain protests/complaints during or after the contest.
