Flower Balls, sometimes called Kissing Balls, make a great hanging decorations for weddings, parties, and just about anywhere, because they add color and are said to bring good luck. Tuft and Garland is looking at the possibility of adding flowers balls made with pom-poms, of course, to our Etsy shop. Light weight and made to coordinate with our garlands and flower arrangements, our pom-pom flower balls will come in a variety of colors and sizes. What do you think? Should we make more?

March is nearly here, and the first week of March is Read Across America Week! Set to begin on Dr. Seuss’ Birthday, the week is dedicated to promoting the benefits and fun of reading. In many schools this week, the Cat in the Hat will be a classroom theme as teachers encourage students to read though the fun antics of Dr. Seuss’ best characters. Tuft and Garland’s red and blue pom-pom leis were designed with these celebrations in mind. They make a great accessory for teachers or a prize for outstanding readers. Tuft and Garland is a small family business run by Darhla and James who have been married for over 30 years. Happy Super Bowl Sunday! We were looking good on Friday! It is a small part, but a big deal for Tuft and Garland that two of our Pom-pom bouquets were on a Superbowl Décor feature with Nathan Turner on the TODAY show. We’re a small and relatively new family business, making unique pom-pom creations, and this was a major boost in our confidence! As the news segment started off, decorating with pom-poms can be a great way to add color and fun to any event or room. And as Tuft and Garland grows, we hope to be part of even more celebrations, fun times, and well decorated spaces. It’s been a busy couple of weeks as we have been making pom-pom leis for upcoming celebrations. One of those celebrations is The Krewe De Tigris Mardi Gras Parade this Saturday in downtown Auburn, Alabama. We are so excited that the Tiger Lillies will be wearing and handing out our custom-colored pom-pom leis at the parade. Good Luck, Tiger Lilies! We hope they have lots of fun and, "Let the good times roll."

Are you going to celebrate Mardi Gras this year? If you do, you will know it is Fat Tuesday and it is the carnival-like celebration the day before Ash Wednesday which leads up Easter. You may also know the colors purple, green, and gold are associated with Mardi Gras and represent justice, faith, and power. These colors are used in all types of decorations and costumes including necklaces. You might be thinking spring with the soft pastel colors of these pom-pom leis but it is also nearly Girl Scout Cookie season depending on where you live. That is the time of year when American Girl Scouts can sell cookies both online and in person at booths and door to door. Cookies are a major girl scout fund raiser to raise money for activities throughout the year. In Albuquerque, New Mexico, Girl Scout Cookie sales will start in just two weeks. To rally and support our local Scouts, Tuft and Garland provided pom-pom leis to the girls, troop leaders, and volunteers of Troop 10711. Time for New Year Resolutions. Have you made any? As Tuft and Garland’s selection of pom-pom flowers and leis for sale have grown, so has our yarn collection. Yesterday was Tuft and Garland’s last craft fair for 2023 and it was a lot of fun. We really appreciated everyone coming out to visit us and see all our pom-pom creations. We love the craft fairs, not just because we get to sell our pom-poms, but because they benefit the community, too. Craft fairs we attended this fall benefited Sandia High School, Rio Grande High School, Del Norte High School, Eisenhower Middle School, and the First Unitarian Church of Albuquerque. Come check out our pom-pom flowers this weekend, the 12th, at the Sandia Bands Craft Fair. Located at Sandia High School from 9 to 4, this craft fair is one of the best in Albuquerque. James will be there all day to answer questions and sell our beautiful pom-pom flowers and pom-pom decorations. We hope to see you there!

Craft fair time! We have just 3 days until our biggest craft fair of the year, the Sandia Band Craft Fair. This year Tuft & Garland Team member, Virginia, will be debuting her pom-pom "Hedgies", in honor of the company mascots. We hope you can join us & see these cute toys.

Ok so I have a website and I am making crafts, but what type of crafts? Well, it may seem crazy, but I make and sell tufts of yarn called pom-poms. Yes, just like what you find on winter hats, but I use them as decorations for around the home and for parties.
