There’s a lot about this sweet wedding and couple that I look fondly back on…but what tops it all is the anchoring belief and priority that no matter what happened, they were just so excited to be married and start the next chapter of their life together. After nearly 8 years of weddings…let me let you in on the ultimate pro-tip: this is the attitude that essentially guarantees the best wedding day. A lot of unexpected curveballs get thrown your way leading up to your wedding, and sometimes even on your wedding day itself…but as long as you keep the main thing the main thing…you best believe it’ll be an incredible day.

My favorite thing lately is when someone sees something black, they’ll dm me with an “I saw this and thought of you”. I tell ya what - I ain’t mad about that one bit. Sneaking pops of black into designs is a personal mission (when it is for the benefit of my clients, of course), but I know l’ve found “my people” when they come ready with that request 🖤🖤🖤

Sometimes, having a send-off at the end of your reception makes sense. Sometimes, it truly doesn’t.

Consider the flow/logistics of how you want your night to go —

Are you planning to linger (venue-permitting) to say good-bye to guests after the music ends?
Are you and your new spouse planning to head out and initiate the end of the festivities?
Will there be an after party?

Or —
Are you just hoping for another photo op? (No judgement, if that’s the case - it’s obviously so much fun, as pictured here!)

Consider something that makes sense —
The popular sparkler exit may not be the move if you’re having a summer wedding, and it’s still daylight out when it’s time to say goodbye.
Bubbles are fun for brunchtime weddings.
Glowsticks can be a hit if your reception was already an epic dance party.

Alternatively, you may opt to end the night with a couple intentional last songs (one last hype song, and then one final one to bring the night to a close) or a late night snack to get people off the dance floor and on their way out.

No matter what your style is, do what’s true to you. ✨
