Oh lilacs. Sweet smelling springtime sweeties.

Did you know you can eat them too? Use them in simple syrup for cocktails, put them in homemade ice cream, infuse your honey or make lilac sugar for your baked goods, or just use them as the cutest garnish!

I’m grateful to live in a place where the lilacs bloom later and last longer than the rest of the country. What a gift!

Happy Father’s Day!! Here’s to all the dads near and far, here and gone. And here’s to my dad who left us too soon but continues to teach me every day. This day is never easy but I’m glad I have memories, photos, and clothes of his so he never feels too far.

Flower Casserole!

Just kidding (kind of).

I try to squeeze as much life out of my flowers as possible, to really honor them respectfully and waste little. I do this by drying them; for confetti, pressed flowers, or for future dried arrangements or wreaths. These flowers are all from the telephone box installation.

Currently freezing my butt off at a ski race, (my other job is a coach) and thinking about these warm summer days is keeping me going!!

I absolutely loved this wedding. Annalise and Austin were amazing clients and held their wedding at a stunning private ranch outside Jackson. Their florals were colorful, wild, and fun. I just love matching and complimenting everyone’s personalities with their flowers!

I’ve been starting to pull out my fall sweaters these last few days and I’m about it!!

I love seasonal transitions, and fall is my favorite transition all year. The cool evenings, chilly breezes, changing colors.. And I keep having skiing dreams which is the best. (Except the ones where my bindings fall off or racing ptsd surfaces)..

This gorgeous wedding was originally planned for last fall but got rescheduled to this spring. I wanted to keep the warm colors of fall but with a spring twist, and it ended up being one of the coolest palettes I’ve worked with.

What a dream.

I just got back from helping out with this incredible, colorful, and inspiring wedding in Montana with an amazing team.

I am so grateful for all the wonderful flower friends I have made in my career so far, and I am so excited and honored to be a part of such a beautiful group of people. The hard work, creativity, humor, grit, openness, joy, and sheer magic that florists embody is incredible to experience and share. I love you guys.

And I LOVE marigolds. Holy crap do I love marigolds.

My sister texted me this morning informing me that today is my one year business anniversary!

What??!??

This year has been.. so different for so many people.

I never would have thought that one day I would be a business owner, and honestly, some days it still feels like I’m not.. But starting this business has been one of the most positive things I have ever done.

I have given myself permission to have freedom. Creative freedom, financial freedom, freedom from a 9-5 and predictable schedule, freedom from authority.. Obviously there are flip sides to all of those, but they are so worth it.

Thanks to everyone who has supported me, whether through teaching me, buying something from me, being there to calm me down or gas me up, I am so thankful for you all.

Just freaking go for it.

Feeling refreshed, full, and confident.

Imposter syndrome is something that affects all of us, especially those of us running a small business. I feel like no matter how much experience you have and how many friends tell you that you are doing great, there is still a part of you that questions whether or not you belong where you are trying to be.

There are so many things I am/was scared of in starting my business. The money, accounting, client building, people pleasing, tax-doing, logistics managing; all of it freaked me out, but the actually flowering was something I was never scared of.

We are still in the early weeks of summer, and yet with each passing day, I can feel my confidence grow, my creativity flourish, and my skills sharpen. Maybe it was the year of agonizing build up that made me question my skills as a florist, but now that we have made it to the other side (mostly) I feel the fear washing away, and I can finally believe that I belong here.

Wherever you are, whatever you are doing or building, know that you belong there, and that you are doing great.

I can’t tell you how many people I’ve heard say “I’m not really into roses.” What does that even mean??
These gorgeous, timeless beauties were grown by . They smell amazing, and are the perfect color for my cream and blush palette this weekend.
