My Story

About me:

As well as having a barrel of experience of working with children; from working at a nursery, volunteering in schools, and working with youngsters now for the past year whilst my business has been developing. I also have a BA (hons) degree in Theatre and Performance. In my final year at University I decided to focus on how theatre and imaginative play can be extremely beneficial to a child’s development. Theatre is a useful tool to keep children engaged, learn and grow in confidence. I was always so fascinated at a child’s imagination, and how growing up in today’s society diminishes that, as children now grow up at a much younger age. As a child, Imagination is so important in being able to explore the world and everything around you. To be able to have the confidence to be whoever you want to be and to learn about yourself, this should be nurtured. I began my business face painting at children’s parties and events, I absolutely loved working with children and I would always find myself joining in with the dances and games. I always knew that I had a good connection with children and once I realised that I thoroughly enjoyed entertaining children I then knew this is something I wanted to pursue as a career; being able to provide the ‘perfect party’ package. My goal was to be able to provide a stress free party allowing parents to be able to be present and enjoy their child’s special day with them creating memory’s that can last a lifetime.

I’ve now provided discos for events ranging from 1st birthdays to 60ths, Graduations to garden parties. Although my speciality is in children’s parties, I also provide discos for all types of events and occasions as well as; Children’s party buffets Party bags Face painting Bump Painting Glitter tattoos and festival glitter Children’s Arts/Craft table Play Club

The games and competitions that I use for my party’s all have valuable learning aspects whether it is working as a team, following instructions, building confidence, communication and of course all whilst having fun. Each party is tailored to the individual child, taking into account themes, age and personal preferences. I like to create an environment where children can be themselves, act silly, forget about the real world for a couple of hours and simply let loose and have fun. Many if not most children like to be the centre of attention and no environment is better able to provide that than a birthday party. For the timid child, being the focus of attention can shore up confidence. For the child who’s outgoing and social, it’s an opportunity to show off and be a star.
