In honor of (a day late) our Fascinating Figure Friday this week is Jan Mayle or Brother Amos. Mayle was of the first celibate brothers to join Conrad Beissel at the Ephrata Community having been initially associated with Beissel as a member of the Conestoga Congregation of the Brethren in 1725. There was a split that occurred in the Brethren congregation over the controversy of Beissel’s beliefs that Saturday was the proper day of the Sabbath instead of Sunday. Beissel and his supporters left the Conestoga congregation to worship the way they chose. In 1728, Mayle rebaptized Beissel while Beissel did the same for him. As a celibate Brother, Mayle served the Ephrata Community as a carpenter and baker. The Chronicon Ephratense states that “… [Br. Amos] filled the position of baker in the Settlement very acceptably for thirty years…” until his death in 1783.

Assuming that the Ephrata bakery operated as a traditional Germanic bakery, it is likely that Mayle baked 3 days out of the week with an output of 40-60 loaves of bread each baking day in order to fulfill the needs of the community at its height of approximately 40 brothers and 40 sisters.

The image seen here is a pre-restoration, stereographic view, of the backside of the Bakery building taken by William Gill circa 1870. The image shows the location of the two original bake ovens. The current bake ovens onsite today were completely rebuilt by restoration architect G. Edwin Brumbaugh. The bakery structure had many “modern” alterations that included the removal of the original bake ovens sometime during the late 1800s or early 1900s.

Get Ready Brothers and Sisters of the Most High King

Behold, six men came from the way of the upper gate, which lies toward the north, every man with his slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man in the midst of them clothed in linen, with a writer's inkhorn by his side. They went in, and stood beside the brazen altar.

Psalm 45 The Royal Garments About to become her Husband’s glory (i Cor. 11:7), this graceful “lady,” comprised of the resurrected saints, is arrayed in fine white linen, interwoven and trimmed with the finest gold, “the gold of Ophir” (Rev. 19:8; Ps. 45:6-9, 13).
The Gold of Ophir and Reigning of Kings and Priests
The Covenant People
My Beloved Child,
from a Royal Kingdom,
with a Royal Destiny
Born for such a time as this!
Your authority mantle will now be what it was always meant to be. You will now be moving in the power of My all conquering love, with My banner of love and victory high above you.

Revelations 5:10 You have made them to be a Kingdom and priests to serve our יהוה , and they will reign on the earth.”

This week’s Curator’s Corner reviews the mystery of our enigmatic glass trumpet, unearthed 30 years ago by archaeologists investigating the Ephrata Closter.

Despite early speculation that it was an alchemist’s device, Darcy Kuronen, the Curator of Musical Instruments at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, confirmed that it “mimics the type of so-called ‘natural trumpet’ that was used throughout Europe and America until the early 19th Century.” However, since it is of glass construction, it was apparently intended for a decorative or ceremonial purpose.

Reporting on the 1995 investigations at Ephrata, lead archaeologist Stephen Warfel noted that “because the trumpet was found in a fully articulated position, special care must have attended its disposal in the refuse deposit; had it been simply thrown in the pit, glass pieces would be more numerous and widely scattered.”

Scholars continue to grapple with myriad questions: from where did the trumpet originate, why was it in the ground, how did it remain so well intact?

A reference in an obscure publication, Hazard’s Register of Pennsylvania, offers potential answers. Writing in the March 14, 1835 issue, Dr. Willam M. Fahnestock, the son of Ephrata householders, noted that Cloister members once sang for “Commissioners who were sent to visit the society by the English Government, after the [French and Indian] War.”

Fahnestock then explained the following: “About twelve months, afterward, a box was received of three or four feet long, and two or two-and-a-half wide, containing a present. What the present was is not now certainly known – none having seen it but Friedsam [founder Conrad Beissel] and Jaebez [Peter Miller], who was then Prior, and into whose care it was consigned. It was buried secretly by him, with the advice of Beissel.”

Unfortunately, that was the extent of Fahnestock’s knowledge on the subject. While we can’t prove his tale references the glass trumpet, it is worth noting that the dimensions align (the trumpet is 3’9” long), and the story provides plausible answers to the most vexing trumpet mysteries.

What do you think? Did the box in Fahnestock’s story contain the glass trumpet?

High Standard Rest
Like the King is coming, Melek Zdek, not a burden but radical freedom that others don’t understand. A set apart time with Elohim! Not thinking of work but joy and family things . Lingering over the meal and singing Psalms.
His name forever written on your heart.
How is your standard in guarding and worshipping?
Let’s dine for the Melek Zdek! Declare the Word!
Y’Shua is resurrected!
There is going to be a 1000 year rest and to get in to that we must rehearse now! This rest is protection for our whole household! Raise your standard! Our Elohim has overcome the world and don’t be deceived into falling! LORD don’t let me forget you! My hope and life is in you don’t let me be deceived into falling!
Raise the standard!
I pray for the river of life for each and every one of you! Selah!

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of Elohim so that at the proper time He may exalt you. . . after you have suffered a little while, Elohim of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Y’Shua, will Himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you (1 Peter 5:6,10 .
This promise given to us.
Again, we are not discounting the genuine suffering that may be required of us. We are suggesting that Elohim has an eternal solution for any problem that we may face. Paul said it this way, “For our momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison” (2 Corinthians 4:17).

Satan to be defeated and the believer securely sharing in Y’shua’s victory.
“be of sober spirit, [and] be on the alert” (1 Peter 5:8) rather than “ignorant of his schemes” (2 Corinthians 2:11), and we should “resist his schemes” (James 4:7) and stand behind our “shield of faith” (Ephesians 6:16).
We discuss how to rightly stand in victory in response to Satan’s defeat and until we rightly understand our defeated foe, we will not likely fully grasp the victory we have in Y’Shua, nor will we be able to respond appropriately to the enemy’s involvement in our lives and in the lives of those around us.
Thankfully, fears and distractions can both be eliminated by gaining a proper perspective of the enemy and the victory we have in Y’shua. Paul emphasized the importance of rightly understanding Satan when he wrote, “no advantage would be taken of us by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes” (2 Corinthians 2:11).

But with the Apostle Paul we say, “thanks be to Elohim, who gives us the victory through our LORD” (1 Corinthians 15:57) and whose truth sets us free from the enemy’s lies (John 8:32). When the Spirit of Truth persuades us of His perspective (John 16:13), we are able to stand firm in our faith with the belt of truth buckled around our waists (Ephesians 6:14).
We now have a choice about whom we will obey (Romans 6:11-14). Since we have been raised up with Y’shua, our lives are now (presently) hidden with Him in Elohim (Colossians 3:1-3) and we are spiritually untouchable since the “evil one cannot touch us” (1 John 5:18). These things (and more) led the Apostle Paul to declare that we have become “more than conquerors” in Y’shua(Romans 8:37 ).
Despite Satan’s best efforts to thwart Elohim’s plan for redemption, he was utterly defeated by Y’shua perfect sacrifice. As Elohim promised through His prophet Isaiah, “He will swallow up death for all time, and the Elohim will wipe tears away from all faces, and He will remove the disgrace of His people from all the earth” (Isaiah 25:8). Y’shua freely gives this victory to those who believe in Him (see 1 Corinthians 15:57). Amen!

Revelations 3: 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.

19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. 20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

21 To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
