Thanks to Wales Arts International - Celfyddydau Rhyngwladol Cymru for support for Portrait and Landscape last year, and to all the speakers including Brenda Angiel Aerial Dance Company pictured here, who gave us such wonderful insights to their work from around the world at a time when we were all stuck at home.

Gravity & Levity in collaboration with Wanda Moretti (Il Posto) and Vertical Dance Kate Lawrence are thrilled to have been awarded funding from British Council’s International Collaboration Grants for 'Creating Connections'
Building on our previous collaborative practice, ‘Creating Connections’ draws on the participatory spirit and inventiveness of the experimental dance work undertaken in 1970’s New York that laid the foundations for the development of vertical dance practice.
Working with diverse groups across 3 meetings in 3 countries, aerial design artist Mish Weaver will respond with simple propositions. The objects introduced will be designed to encourage cooperation, trust, playful exploration and support, to create a tangible outcome.

a sunny outdoors at what looks like the shady, earthy, rocky roots of a
conifer forest. Julia has light brown skin and is smiling straight at the
camera. Her bob-length brown tight curls are blowing in the breeze
and catching the sun light beaming from above left.
