Learn magic with the innovative national education program, Discover Magic, specially designed to teach key life skills through the process of learning to perform magic. This magic camp teaches magic and valuable social skills while letting the kids have fun in a safe environment. Kids will be engrossed in learning and performing magic while developing communication skills, self-discipline, and confidence. Magic Camp features custom created props, top secret private files, and special bonus material kids (and parents) can unlock with a secret code after class. The tricks are designed for first time learners that will not only fool adults but will develop and unlock exciting possibilities in every child.

Today we celebrate the birthday of The King of Cards, Howard Thurston.
Howard Thurston was born July 20, 1869, in Columbus, Ohio. He was the middle son of William and Margaret Thurston. His father William Henry Thurston was a wheelwright and carriage maker who served briefly as a private during the Civil War in the Third Ohio Regiment. His mother Margaret (Cloude), was the daughter of an Ohio farmer. He attended Mount Hermon School for Boys in Northfield, Massachusetts, class of 1893. Among his fellow students were Lee de Forest, "The Father of American Radio," and musical humorist Charles Ross Taggart, "The Old Country Fiddler."

When he was a child, Thurston practiced sleight of hand, but his mother viewed this as "devil's work". She later sent Thurston away to undertake Bible studies. Eventually, Thurston saw one of Alexander Hermann's shows, which led to Thurston's decision to begin his career as a magician.

Fun Fact: Thurston is quoted as a subject matter expert in Dale Carnegie's book How to Win Friends and Influence People. He appears in Part Two, Chapter One ("Do This and You'll Be Welcome Anywhere"), on pages 67–68 of the original text

Magic classes are coming up at the Conundrum House in Corvallis! This is going to be an AMAZINGLY MAGICAL time for your child. Sign up soon before spaces are filled.

Always remember your worth, regardless what others think.

A violinist played for 45 minutes in the New York subway. A handful of people stopped, a couple clapped, and the violinist raised about $30 in tips.

No one knew this, but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the best musicians in the world. In that subway, Joshua played one of the most intricate pieces ever written with a violin worth 3.5 million dollars.

Two days before he played in the Subway, Joshua Bell sold out a Boston theatre, and the seats averaged about $100.

The experiment proved that the extraordinary in an ordinary environment does not shine and is so often overlooked and undervalued.

There are brilliantly talented people everywhere who aren’t receiving the recognition and reward they deserve. But once they arm themselves with value and confidence and remove themselves from an environment that isn’t serving them, they thrive and grow.

Your gut is telling you something. Listen to it if it’s telling you where you are isn’t enough!
