The Winner of the Cultivators Cup!

The judges liked this for it's dense bud structure and it's aromatic, sticky, smooth, and well cured smoke.

Every judge that tried EmergenC #4 put it at the top of their list.

Congratulations!
This was a difficult cup to pick a winner from. There were some fantastic entries and some people we'd love to be able to add as honorable mentions. For today though, we must leave you with this.

All cup entries were passed out to the judges in the beginning of June. They have been continuously judging flower since then, and have been submitting their scores. The winner will be announced as planned on July 9th and prizes will be granted.

We are a grassroots movement folks!🗣 As such, that means all of the proceeds from the VIP Event Invite Passes goes back into the festival itself. “Greg and I have slightly different visions. They connect, but mine is that other states have messed up, and they’ve let it go really, really corporate,” says Fitzhugh, sole proprietor of Richmond Hydroponics — Virginia’s first cannabis-specific fertilizer company. “And Virginia is there. Everyone is out of state. GLeaf. Columbia Care. They’re not in Virginia. Why are they controlling our w**d? So by doing the cup, we can find the best Virginia grower, and we can highlight them. And we can potentially point them in a direction to being a lead grower somewhere, and say, ‘Hey, this is the best grower in Virginia. They should be respected. And they should be respected in a legal sense.’”

For Powers, educating the public about the legacy of cannabis in Virginia is just as important as celebrating the flower itself. And he sees the event as a way of honoring the cultivators who have been risking their freedom for decades to keep their craft alive and a roof over their heads.

“For me, there’s this big missing chunk of history,” Powers says. “It seems like all of this event, or the majority of it, is new growers, and new laws, and new people and faces. New friendships and all that. And it’s missing this part of honoring those that went before us. That were always growing the plant and always supporting the market.

A heartfelt welcome to to the speaker stage at our Educational Pavilion! So looking forward to hearing their team talk. A little bit about Bevon Findley, the dean and instructor at at Choices RVA:

Bevon Findley is a Dean and instructor at Choices RVA, who was a training officer in the Navy creating tech manuals to educate new sailors while serving on the USS Wasp. As a Digital Marketing expert in New York City, Bevon helped create an in-house educational platform to teach college graduates, interns, and new employees on Coding, Photography, Videography, SEO, Graphic Design, and more. As a Digital Marketing expert in Florida, Bevon was part of a team that created an education platform to educate medical patients on behalf of doctors, nurses, and hospitals.

Now as a 6-year CBD veteran, Bevon has created a H**p education platform called CBD.how to help H**p Brands educate their customers. CBD.how also powered Choices RVA, the first Black-Owned H**p School in Richmond, Virginia.
