As promised, we brought and delivered our A-game to the stands, fervently cheering on our boys as they competed against the host nation. We won with a convincing 2-0 set victory.
We play Australia in the final tomorrow at 9.15am Solomon Island time.

Our tennis boys went all out today in the gold medal face-off with Fiji. No victory, but, they played their heart out. Big ups to Maka and Ina for earning Tuvalu's first-ever tennis medal. What a game it was!! Mad respect and Fakafetai lasi for bringing home silver.
In other news, our beach volleyball boys faced off against a tough Fiji team in the quarterfinals and they owned it, 2-1! Next up, they're squaring off with the home team, Solomon Islands, in the semis. Fakafetai lasi Saaga and Ampex for repping and grinding for our nation. We're rooting for you in the semis tomorrow and we'll be there, loud and proud, bringing our A-game to the stands, ready to rival the Solo crowd. It's all love and all heart for our boys. Keep riding that wave.

**Pacific Games Update**
Our men's beach volleyball team bagged two wins today. Their first came off against American Samoa with a 2-0 set sweep while the second was against a formidable Tahitian team with a 2-1 set win. With pool games now completed, we remained unbeaten as we advance into the finals.
In athletics, our runners in the 200m and 4x100m men’s relay teams blazed through their heats and secured their spots in the finals.
In football, our team is all set and braced to face NMI tomorrow after their victory over Tonga, where they proved too powerful.
In tennis, our men's doubles team is preparing for a grand showdown. They are scheduled to go toe to toe against Fiji in their gold medal match, set for 2 PM Honiara time tomorrow.

In the boxing ring, our two fighters threw down with everything they had, none snag a win, but both were tough against their opponents - hard luck boys.
In beach volleyball, the men's kicked off strong, scoring a sweet victory against one of the favourites of the comp - Papua New Guinea. The ladies, though, had a rough go and took a hit against Palau.
Big ups to all our players for the next rounds. We're rooting for you all. Team Tuvalu 🇹🇻

Team Tuvalu played well today in tennis with a decisive win over Nauru in singles and doubles [2-0,2-0,2-0]. A good bounce from an initial defeat to New Caledonia on the first day. Tuvalu is due to play Cook Islands in their third match of the pool on Monday.
The volleyball teams, however, had a good outing with the mens opening their PG campaign against PNG yesterday and women against a consistent Samoa team today. Both teams lost their first games
In para-table tennis, Ioane Hawaii won the Men's Singles ITF Oceania Championship and qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics. Tanielu Soa also did well, taking home a bronze medal.

One of the challenges that has been very obvious in Tuvalu is waste management.
A lot has been done, said & planned about economic developments and while this is important, it is also very important to realize that with economic development comes waste.
It is only right to live and develop our lands within it's ability to absorb what we give it. We are already over exploiting and may have compromised our future resources. The irony is that we are telling the world to live within their means to save us.
About time we rethink our way of life and development approach 🧐

CNMI proved a little too strong for our boys, but what a battle it was. We lost 2 sets down and will be playing later today in a bronze medal match against Tahiti. Semi final 2 between Tahiti and Vanuatu didn't round off due to injuries and so an automatic win to Vanuatu. If Tahiti is not recovered on time for the playoff match, we will automatically get a default win and a bronze to take home 💙 CNMI to take on Vanuatu in the gold medal match later today.
