✨Georgia & Devon✨
As luck would have it, rain changed their initial plans from a backyard ceremony to a secret one, done privately at their beautiful home. What followed was, a beautiful ceremony with their closest family and friends, where all was revealed…they were married already!!!🤪❤️💒.
I’ll never forget how loud their tribe cheered when they walked in together. Absolute darlings, it was a pleasure and an honour❤️🥹

How fabulous is this cake!
Theming is one of our favourite things at Huxley and Co! ✨
Here are some tips we love when planning a themed event:
- Inspo & moodboards - drawing inspiration from art, costumes, Pinterest, industry professionals and iconic events is a must! Even the red carpet! (No pun intended)
- Decide what colours are iconic for your theme?
- Don’t be afraid of metallics, patterns, sequins, shimmer walls, balloons or florals - they are your friends!
- Venue. Even if your entertaining at home, considering the layout and zones of your venue are crucial. Do you need a dance floor? Are you looking for an open rooftop bar? Do you need a luxe ballroom or something smaller/intimate?

Props and decor - Details people. Event furniture, signage, decorations all work together to bring a theme home.
- Choose a few elements and really hone in on making these the best they can be! This can be a Photobooth or photo station, dessert cart, fancy backdrop, dramatic lighting, a performance, a decadent spread; think interactive and entertaining!

We planned for:
- Media Wall
- Red carpet entrance
- Murder Mystery (a LOT of fun)
- Cocktail waiters
- Gorgeous furniture from
- Acrylic signage with themed stickers for luxe party bags
- Last but not least - party planning & styling help! Of course I’m going to suggest using a professional 🙋🏽‍♀️ but for smaller events delegate!
- Make a list and check it twice🤣 and ask those trusty friends and family to help out!

The ultimate *pinch me* moment happened last weekend, at my partner’s 30th birthday. We got engaged!!!!!! 😭
Now, it all makes sense why he shot me the dirtiest look as I started belting out happy birthday very eagerly and maybe a bit early for perhaps his initial cue. Aka our doggie Huxley making the grand entrance as ring bearer! 💍😭

You had me at lychee- 🍸
Planning a cocktail offering for your next event doesn’t have to be boring! It’s one of my favourite things to do and can be a really creative process.
Start by narrowing down your own palette - and then consider what your guests love! Is it bold, bitter, fruity or refreshing? All....right?! 🤣
When I’m planning an event I always suggest incorporating “crowd pleasers.” And it doesn’t always mean having the most expensive food, the most expensive photographer or over-priced champagne, but choosing popular flavours! Songs that make people DANCE and food that translates to MMMM. 🤤 it’s the same for cocktails.
You’ll also want to think practicality. What can your waitstaff make quickly for service, that will still knock the socks off your guests.
Theming and concept is also important. You’ll want to opt for drinks that compliment your event and suit the style of your occasion. Think colours, tastes, scents, glassware etc Also have some fun with cocktail names, this can be as personalised as you want it to be!
Bar setup and finishing touches. I’m talking about:
✨Herbs for garnishing
✨Decorative bowls of citrus fruits
✨Aprons for waitstaff
✨Hanging florals or greenery
✨Bar signage
✨Champagne bowls
✨Straws/cocktail napkins
✨Even mason jars or small frames go a long way for your over-all theme.
✨Also experienced mixologists and skilled bar staff are key to bringing it all home!
