Another warm and sunny summers night in Kapiti for the February '24 edition of BURGERSNCARS KAPITI held at BURGERFUEL, Kapiti Rd, Paraparaumu.

A number of new cars making their first appearance at the event, and it was Upper Hutt's, Alf Hole in his '23 T Bucket who was awarded staff choice. Thanks to our generous sponsors BURGERFUEL, CHEMZ and DIGGAWORX for the prizes.

A fine and warm Kapiti evening greeted the participants and spectators for the December 8th, 2023, edition of BURGERSNCARS KAPITI.
Another excellent turnout with vehicles from Palmerston North, Levin and the wider Wellington region joining up with Kapiti locals.

A great turnout of 100+ vehicles for our first event of the 23/24 summer and we look forward to warmer temperatures in the months ahead.
There was a great atmosphere, and the event is attracting of lot of the general public, admiring the cars.
There were participants from Palmerston North, Levin and the wider Wellington Region.
A big thank you to PJ and his BURGERFUEL team who not only served up GOOD FOOD but went the extra mile by supplying very special prizes for the Staff Choice Award. Their generosity resulted in two awards on the night of BURGERFUEL framed art, a bottle of the good stuff plus vouchers.
Max McCormack from Wainuiomata in his Pontiac Trans Am GTO and Grant and Louise Blackwood, residents of the Kapiti Coast, in their 1932 Ford Roadster were the lucky recipients.
The prize packages also included prizes from CHEMZ (product) and Digga Worx (Gift Vouchers).
Please support these companies.
In addition to BURGERFUEL vouchers distributed to participants we welcomed "Coffee to Die For", a coffee cart set up in a hearse, who also provided vouchers - thank you.
Thanx to Kim Dolman from Digga Worx for her help on the night and give away "sweets" for the little and big kids.
I have attached some photos to this post and will try and take more shots in November. I was doing double duty on the night putting together event coverage for the November edition of "NZ Petrolhead" magazine.

The formal Burgersncars Kapiti runs on the 2nd Friday of the daily savings months.
The date and venue remains as a get together for Cool Rides, Great People and Good Food during the rest of the year.
The weather is looking good today so if you are up for a cruise and BurgerFuel food 6.00pm tonight is the plan.

BURGERSNCARS - KAPITI - Friday 10 March

Another great night with a big turnout, of Cool Rides, Great People and Good Food for the last of this summers "official" BURGERSNCARS - KAPITI.

Managers choice was awarded to Darryl Hutchinson (and his grandson) in his choice 53 Ford Pop.

Thank you to Ken the Manager of BurgerFuel - Kapiti, Kim Dolman of Digga Worx and Nigel Segedin from CHEMZ NZ for supplying the prizes.

Thank you to all who have supported this event over the summer, it has exceeded all expectations and will be returning in the daylight savings months of the 2023-2024 summer.

There was discussion on the night of retaining the date (second Friday of the month) and venue as a monthly get together during the winter months.
The first of these will be Friday 14th April 2023.
So if you are into Cool Rides, Great People and Good BurgerFuel Food we will see you then.

Another great Kapiti Coast night and 100+ vehicles turning up - thank you for your support.

Great to see a good representation from the Palmerston North Hot Rod Club and from participants from all over the region.

Lots of new cars and faces enjoying the picnic type atmosphere.
A big thank you to Ken the Manager of Kapiti BurgerFuel for the great location and food plus the vouchers for the Staff Choice.

Thank you to Kim Dolman from Diggaworx for the gift voucher and all the good work you do on the night.

Great to see Nigel Segedin from CHEMZ NZ on the night and his generous donation of their fine product for the Staff Choice award is appreciated.

Coverage of the night will be in this month's Petrolhead due out on the 14th.

There is only one more BURGERSNCARS Kapiti this summer on Friday 10th March 2023 - note it in your calendar as it will be big.

Just like it says on the event publicity
COOL RIDES, GREAT PEOPLE AND GOOD FOOD.

A great night attended by 80+ vehicles in warm sunny weather.

The staff of BURGERFUEL Kapiti were working to capacity and if you did not have a pickup deck to sit on you set up your picnic chairs and table in the expansive carpark.
The new motorway and expressway leading into Kapiti caught a few
participants out with the short travel time, with some out of towners arriving over an hour before the advertised start time.

BURGERFUEL Kapiti Staff Choice was awarded to Errol and Val Mollet, from Palmerston North in their '32 Ford Roadster. They were presented with BURGERFUEL vouchers, a Mitre 10 Gift voucher and a Chemz NZ pack of their fine products.

A big thank you to BURGERFUEL, Chemz NZ and Digga Worx for supplying the giveaways. In addition, Kim from Digga Worx handed out sweets to the big and little kids and BURGERFUEL supplied vouchers for complementary product. Please support these companies.

BURGERS N CARS Kapiti is on the Friday 13 January 2023.

The opening of the new Peka Peka to Otaki Expressway has had a significant effect on the travel times for those coming from the North. A fast run with no delays.

BurgersnCars Kapiti 9 December 2022.
Although very little rain fell during the event damp conditions took a toll on the number of cars attending.
Thank you to those attended from as far away as Palmerston North and Wellington City. Numbers were boosted by car owners coming down for a BURGERFUEL up in their daily driver cars.
Staff Choice selected by BURGERFUEL Kapiti staff led by new Manager Prosbonth went to Simon Forlong and his "78 Camaro.

The weather gods were shining on BurgerFuel Kapiti last night for the second BURGERSNCARS KAPITI. While areas north and south of Kapiti endured strong winds and heavy rain the rain stopped in Kapiti at 5.15pm and stayed away until after 8.00pm.

30+ cars joined the event with some driving up from Wellington despite the weather - thank you.

Staff Choice was presented to Brent James attending his first event in his newly purchased 1960 Dodge Pioneer. Brent lives in Waikanae and had the back seat full of excited grandkids. The Dodge was assembled in the Hutt Valley and is in great condition - very cool.

To clarify.
Burgersncars is an all weather event and it would only be cancelled if all the surrounding roads were closed due to flooding.
Yes we have some light rain in Kapiti at the moment so if you and your car do not melt in the rain we will see you at BurgerFuel Kapiti tonight.

Friday nights event was a great success and built on our "Cool Rides, Great People and Good Food" logo. Many comments about the great vibe.
There were 100+ vehicles which was well in excess of expectations, and I owe my appreciation and thanks to everyone involved:-
First and foremost is everyone who attended and supported the event - thank you.
For those who travelled from Palmerston North and all around the Wellington region.
Armaan Mehay and his crew at BurgerFuel Kapiti for their sponsorship and support plus the great food service on the night catering for all in attendance.
Kim Dolman from Digga WorX who provided a gift voucher added to the BurgerFuel vouchers awarded to the "Staff Choice" presented to Kevin Churchward for his 1960 Chev Impala.
The members of Gear Jammers who replicated exactly the cars and setup used on the event poster. The image used, on the poster, was sourced from goggle from an event they held 6 years ago.
BURGERSNCARS Kapiti is held on the second Friday of the daylight-saving months and the next one is on Friday 12th November.
Some photos from the event are attached to this post and I will try and find time to take more at future events.
The November 2022 Petrolhead will carry coverage of the event.
