On August 13th, 2021, we celebrated the love of two very special people. To honor Natasha's heritage, the wedding incorporated a Peruvian flair that was visible in subtle ways like the Peruvian flute player who serenaded our guests during the ceremony or the Peruvian manta (fabric) napkin rings sewn by the bride's mom.
It was a magical day and it wouldn't have been possible without our amazing team of vendors 💜

When I was beginning this journey as an event planner, the very first game-changing lesson I learned was that you don't have to have it all figured out to build a business. At the time, this was a huge revelation for me because I could see how much I was holding myself back with self doubt.
Even though I’ve learned so much since then and come so far, I still think of that lesson often because it reminds me that baby steps are often the best way to move forward. You don’t have to have all the answers to start. You just have to start!

If you know my brother, you know he really doesn't like to dance, especially in public, so trust me when I say, he surprised us and had us all howling.

We've been missing our family in Nicaragua so much these days. This is the longest we've gone without travelling to see them and since we've missing them so much, we thought it'd be nice to share more of my brother and Heyling's wedding and all the beautiful Nicaraguan traditions they incorporated to their celebration! 🇳🇮
This photo is of me (Cynthia) and my cousin, Sarah, after performing a traditional folklore dance for the newly weds!
Nicaragua's music is infused with the traditional sounds of its indigenous cultures and the strong influence of its 16th-century Spanish colonists. The folk dances are stories and symbols that capture Nicaragua's long dramatic history, as well as the distinctive customs and beliefs that give the nation its 𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐡 and 𝐯𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 flavor.
Most folk dances are, in one form or another, celebrations of ordinary life! And in this case, it was a celebration of the union of my brother and my sweet sister-in-law 💜

I really love watching those videos of people beating cancer and being able to ring a bell in victory.
I do also get a bit sad watching them because my mom will technically never have a chance at ringing a bell.
So my friends told me we should ring a bell after all the small victories which was a beautiful and amazing idea.
Mom just finished day 2 of 2 of her treatment and we rang a dang bell! 🔔
Thank you again for all the love and all the beautiful messages we've received over the last few days. I read every single message to her and it really gave her so much joy!
My mom is the bravest and most fearless person I know. She's a 𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐫 - and she'll always be one!
