Thinking back to Julia and Andre’s stunning Steele Hill wedding from June! I’m obsessed with this couple and how incredibly sweet they both are! Fun fact: We discovered during Julia and Andre’s initial consultation last October that Julia’s cousin was actually my daughter’s first grade teacher (her favorite teacher of all time, no less)! This summer has been so incredibly busy for me both personally and professionally. Between my business being in full swing and packing in as many activities with my family and friends as possible, there has been little room to actually stop and take a deep breath. With my kids heading back to school in just two short weeks, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and falling back into a steady routine is nearly within my grasp! This means more time to focus on the remaining ceremonies for the year and getting out my 2025 drafts ASAP!
In the spirit of slowing down and taking in a moment, here is this incredible shot from Alison + Chris’s wedding last weekend. Beautifully captured by .lumiere.collective . I love this moment in a traditional wedding so much. It always reminds me of that feeling of weightlessness and pause right at the top of a rollercoaster. The anticipation and work that goes into planning a big event leads the couple right to this quiet moment where they get to finally move slowly, look into each other’s eyes and appreciate everything that has led them there. Before you know it, the moment has passed and all that’s left to do is let go and enjoy the ride.

While there is nothing we love more than standing up there with you on your wedding day and performing your custom ceremony, we know that hiring a professional officiant is not the path for many couples. Did you know.. I am a preferred vendor at multiple premier venues throughout New England including The Bedford Village Inn (👇)? This is something I’m so proud of! A question I get asked often is, “do you need to previously officiate a wedding at a venue to feel comfortable there?” The answer is – absolutely not. While I do love going back to the same venues over and over and working with the amazing teams there, I am a social creature (shocking, I know) and I enjoy meeting and working alongside each different venue and their teams of talented planners and coordinators to give you the beautiful ceremony you’re dreaming of!

I am so, so excited to announce that The Marrying Jane is expanding to include a second talented officiant! Laurenne “Ren” Berner will be joining my team. Together we will continue to create and perform beautiful custom ceremonies for couples throughout New England! Over the last few years, I’m proud to say that my business has grown and grown! The downside of that is that I’ve been having to turn away more and more couples due to already being booked. I knew that I wanted to expand to include another officiant who shared my same passion for giving couples the ceremony they envision, performed by a professional who makes them feel comfortable and at ease throughout the whole wedding planning process. My busiest month of 2024 is August. With two August weddings already in the books for 2025, I anticipate the 8th month of the year being very popular next year as well! Congratulations K & J, your elopement was everything and so much more!!! It was an absolute honor to have been there to witness your love!!!! The Marrying Jane absolutely killed it, per usual. Highly, highly recommend getting married on the top of a mountain at sunrise. The best day and the best memory ❤
Deciding which of the photos from K+J’s elopement this morning was most worthy of a spot on my grid was nearly impossible. We enjoyed the most breathtaking views as this special couple exchanged vows exactly at sunrise. The morning was topped off with champagne sharing and being able to hike alongside the one and only . My heart is full and I’m feeling so lucky that I get to do this 😭🤍
I have been SO excited to share this elopement with you all! Two of my dearest friends asked me if I’d marry them in the middle of the ice at one of our favorite lakes in Maine. It was just the three of us out there and could not have felt more special. This ceremony will be near and dear to my heart for the rest of my days and I feel so honored to have been a part of it.
Not only did I get to officiate, but I also got to play driver, photographer, florist and hype girl. All roles I truly enjoy dabbling in also 😝

While this coming year will mark my 5th wedding season as a professional officiant, my ceremony writing journey began over 10 years ago when I insisted on writing our entire wedding ceremony myself. We had a family friend act as our JP. Because I am who I am, there was no way I was going to let her read a cookie cutter ceremony for the masses. As I began researching what I wanted the structure of our ceremony to be, I realized there was nothing out there that felt right for us. So I started the hunt for readings and passages and quotes that I really loved and wove our love story into them.
Little did I know, this would be the same structure and attention to detail I’d use to write countless ceremonies for others more than a decade later! Every ceremony should be unique and reflect the couple it belongs to. I’ve got you!
