Do you have an interest in Medical Nursing? 🧪

Have you heard of the Veterinary Internal Medicine Nurse Academy? 🤔

Laura is a UK based RVN and VTS qualified in Small Animal Internal Medicine. She is EXCEPTIONAL at all things medicine and runs the VIMN Academy, which allows you access to workshops, on-demand webinars, test-yourself quizzes, book club calls, case discussions and Q&A calls with community support. You can then take everything you have learned back to practice, whether it is GP or referral, without the heavy workload of a Certificate.

Laura is running a 5 week Medical Nursing Skills Challenge and I'm certain it will be jam packed full of interesting topics, tips and ideas. 💡

📰NEWS and UPDATES

💊NIVA and BVA NI have continued to work on the Veterinary Medicines issue pertaining to the end of the Grace period. They have been in talks with and gathering information from the Pancyprian Veterinary Association this week so they can learn and work out a way forward together. The Cyprian veterinary community are currently experiencing difficulties in obtaining veterinary medicines similar to what NI will at the end of the Grace period if no solution has been found.

🤝A meeting of minds.
AVPSNI and NIVA’s presidential officers held a joint meeting to collaborate on a few upcoming events and to discuss ways to work closely together for the greater good of the entire veterinary community in Northern Ireland. It was a lengthy and successful evening with a great deal of issues covered.

🥱AND FINALLY

🐌A little bit of slow story for a Friday evening….

The World Snail Racing Championships had veterinary support this year for the first time since their inauguration in the 1960s.
Vet John Cooper, president of the Veterinary Invertebrate Society (VIS), was on hand to carry out health checks on gastropod athletes before and after their races around a 13-inch track on 8th July.
For the most part this involved giving people engaged in the eccentric event advice about the importance of handling their snails gently and not exposing them to direct sunlight.
