Did you know this is what lady bugs eggs look like? I accidentally swiped some off from our hummingbird feeder before I knew what they were. I then found these little guys on a hat that got left by the pool. So I quietly moved the hat into some trees so the eggs can do their things and hopefully stick around my garden to do some work 😝 🐞

Sometimes plans just don’t go as you planned and gardening in Colorado is certainly a test in that lesson. I have painstakingly grown these dahlia tubers from babies for the last two months indoors and then a hailstorm came in and decimated them. They will bounce back but it basically means we’re starting at ground zero. Oh well, don’t mind me I’ll just be over here crying in the corner 😅
