On this day in 1969, in the early hours of a New York City summer, a group of courageous q***r elders stood up to state violence at the Stonewall Inn, unintentionally launching the Pride movement as we know it today. We are forever indebted to their bravery and their love.

Tomorrow night, we will do our best to honor them—particularly the trans, BIPOC s*x workers who led the six-day-long revolt—with a silent disco through the streets of Burbank. Come dance. Be free. And pump up the energy we need to continue the fight for justice.
