Erik picked up this strand of ELEVEN balloons out of the hayfield this afternoon. They were losing helium and would have been essentially invisible in another few hours, and then stood a good chance of getting mowed, raked and baled in the dense grass to be potentially eaten by a cow, horse or goat this winter. This is often fatal to the animal, causing intestinal blockage or choking. With the long strings wound right into the bale, an animal may not even realize what it’s consuming until it’s too late.

Please, on behalf of not only livestock but wildlife, skip the balloons when you’re decorating for your party this summer! Releasing balloons, whether accidental or intentional, is littering, plain and simple—and it can truly have deadly consequences.

As we still in the process of putting out party kit together, we hired this one for my daughters birthday party this weekend from the lovely DoodleBobs in Ipswich.

DoodleBobsDoodleBobs and Hadleigh Party Kit Hire will be working together to reduce our carbon footprint by pointing customers in each others directions if they are closer.

Over the last year we’ve logged a whopping 266,369 single-use items avoided by the hire of party kits.

This is more than double what we achieved last year, which is amazing! 🤩

However many kits haven’t yet reached their full potential.

I’ve been thinking about ways I can help make parties more eco......if anyone happens to have any of the giant helium balloons that you haven't got around to throwing out yet, please consider donating them to DoodleBobs. I'm hoping to get a collection of them so they can be also be hired out (Did you know they can be refilled using a straw!)

Other party decorations also welcome, as unfortunately most are not recyclable - let's save them from landfill.

Do you send an paper invitation, a quick WhatsApp? How about having an zero waste invite designed especially for your party?.
Our invites are designed so that you can send them via Whatsapp, messenger, email or any other way you can think of. This helps reduce cost, waste and resources. However, if you need a few paper copies, for posting or popping in a school book bag, you can print copies yourself.
And the cost? Just £3
