Another successful year in the books. Thank you to everyone that helped make this another memorable year. I would like to thank nick newell and Brian “Weeze” Altvater jr for helping us with access to tribal facilities. Also Nick for helping with the ancestral paddle and so much more. To the wonderful team that does the ancestral paddle Berta newell and Natalie Rose Dana Lolar. Paul Mitchell for ensuring the PDC and vendors have power. The finance department for putting up with me for the last few weeks 😅 the Pleasant Point Police Departmentfor their assistance during this weekend and keeping us safe 💕 The Pleasant Point Health Center staff for their support and activities. The youth and rec for borrowing us their lacrosse equipment and to tribal attorney Michael Corey Hinton for showing our youth how to play lacrosse. The sipayik elementary school for generously, donating paper goods for our traditional meal. A special thank you to Judy Suddy for doing our voluntary road toll. Brenda Mooremitchell for making our honoree baskets, Lori Lola Keezer for making our honoree eagle feathers. Patrick Francis for the softball and volleyball games. WPHW for their donations and events for our tribal youth 💕 Our drummers, Huntley Brook, little eagles, cipelahq ehpicik, and Burnurwurbskek All of the dancers. Woliwon for keeping our traditions alive. Donald francis for cooking, prepping and serving our delicious traditional meal. Sam Neptune Jr. for doing the second annual Kimberly Neptune co****le tournament. Susan soctomah for bringing together the kids games. Paula Cleaves for making the sashes for our pageant. Lynn Amakehs Mitchell for our community blessing. MC Chris Newell for following in his father‘s footsteps and continuing this journey. Adam Newell for providing the sweat lodge ceremony. Linda Stanley for keeping the grounds clean and taking care of our rubbish.
A thank you to my team Council women, Melissa Wiphunsis Francis, and Shirley mitchell, Tina Sabattus, Tori Neptune, Deborah “squeaky” Mitchell and Lisa DeMolet. I apologize if I am missing anyone. And lastly all of our vendors, community members and members of surrounding communities you are what make this weekend possible and how we continue to do this every year.
