This celebration of excellence has been created by the AZZIES AWARD Association in conjunction with The Menace Enterprises Incorporated. For the first time ever this new and revolutionary award presentation will feature its inaugural ceremony at the 2016 Dennis James Classic in Mesa, AZ on June 11, 2016. The AZZIES AWARDS are the first and only awards ceremony devoted strictly to the Arizona Fitn
ess Community. The awards will be voted on by the AZZIES AWARDS ASSOCIATION, which is comprised of some of Arizona’s most distinguished luminaries. The AZZIES AWARDS will recognize those individuals most committed to the development and advancement of the physical form. The individuals may have been involved in a local show during the past 18 months; however, that is not a requirement of consideration for an award unless specified. The committee will focus on those who have demonstrated a positive affect on the fitness community in the state of Arizona including but exclusive to the sport of bodybuilding and its specific divisions and classes. All nominations must be submitted by April 4, 2016, and the rules for submission are as follows:
Anyone can nominate another individual, but one cannot nominate oneself. Submissions must be sent via email to [email protected]
All submissions should include the nominee’s name in the subject line. Submissions for the Dennis James Lifetime Achievement Award must be sent via email: Nominations must include a 500 word essay detailing the individuals accomplishments and contributions to the Arizona Fitness Community along with 3 high quality photos, including an up-to-date photo. Submissions for all the other awards must include: A short essay sent via email detailing why your nominee is deserving of this award. In addition 3 high quality photos should be sent via email, and a short 10-30 second video that can be shared via social media to the Azzies Awards Association Instagram or page. Nominees should be available on the date of the ceremony to receive their award. The winners of the Dennis James Lifetime Achievement Award and the Shining Light Award will be notified by June 1st. The 3 finalists for each of the remaining award category will be notified by June 1st. Finalists will not be required to purchase a ticket to the show/ceremony. The full intent of these awards is to acknowledge greatness in the state of Arizona without bias or favoritism. With the help of the entire Arizona Fitness Community we will come together in unity to honor those who stand heads and shoulders above all the rest.
