The lurching forward of the clock for Daylight Saving Time yesterday could very well be the reason you are more tired today.

▫️Naps can charge your brains’ batteries: A NASA-funded study on astronauts found that naps up to two and a half hours long improved working memory performance… taking a nap may make you more alert for the period right after you wake up and maybe hours into the day.

▫️You lower your risk for heart problems: Taking a nap once of twice a week could lower the risks of heart attacks or strokes, according to a 2019 BMJ study.

▫️Boosts your creativity: Research suggests that the right side of your brain might experience a mental spark during a nap. The right side is the hemisphere most associated with creative tasks, such as visualization and thinking.

▫️Improves the quality of your sleep and wellness: A routine nap helps to improve the quality of nighttime sleep overtime. A lack of quality sleep could lead to overeating because inadequate sleep is believed to stimulate hunger and suppress hormone signals that communicate fullness.

Boss Bae’s we’d be remiss not to acknowledge the 29th Annual Black Love Day, coined by Ayo Handy Kendi.
Her goals were to establish 24 hours of Celebration for Blackness and the love within. She aspired to shed love on the black family structure and one’s own love for self.
We affirm that Black Love is Self-love. ✨

Because of Black Women, We Can!
It is because of these visible, but unsung, women of the civil rights movement that we can…!
Ella Baker- A major force in shaping the development of the Civil Rights Movement. She was the premiere behind-the-scenes organizer, co-founder of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) headed by Martin Luther King, Jr., and an inspiring force behind the creation of the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC).
Septima Poinsette Clark- Often called the “queen mother” of civil rights, was an educator and National Association for the Advancement of Colored People activist. Clark developed the literacy and citizenship workshops that played an important role in the drive for voting rights and civil rights for African Americans in the Civil Rights Movement.
Fannie Lou Hamer- A Mississippi sharecropper, who was beaten and jailed in 1962 for trying to register to vote. She co-founded the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party and gave a fiery speech at the 1964 Democratic National Convention when she uttered the words, I Am Sick and Tired of being Sick and Tired.
Vivian Malone Jones- Defied segregationist Alabama Gov. George C. Wallace to enroll in the University of Alabama in 1963, becoming the First black graduate from the University of Alabama, and later worked in the civil rights division of the U.S. Justice Department.
