🏫 Reopening of Schools 🏫

School system employees have assessed all sites and were able to make modifications necessary to ensure an environment conducive to learning. Additionally, we have been notified that electricity will be restored at all sites before tomorrow morning with the possible exception of SCPPS Head Start's Carver Early Learning Center. Therefore, all St. Charles Parish Public Schools and offices – except Carver – will reopen on Friday, September 13, 2024, and Carver will reopen on Monday, September 16. Carver employees will be contacted by their supervisor in regards to when and where to report for work on Friday.

We understand the challenges some of our parish residents continue to face. However, reopening schools is crucial not only for the continuity of learning but also for the broader community. Many of our working families rely on the stability our schools provide, and we take seriously our responsibility to support them as they return to work. Our schools also offer a safe, structured environment where students can access essential services, including meals and social-emotional support.

Please note:
➡️Both high school football games originally scheduled for Friday, September 13 have been postponed, and the schools are working to reschedule these games.
➡️Before and after school care will be offered.
➡️We recommend monitoring your individual school’s website and social media accounts for updates regarding any other afterschool activities.
➡️Expect some minor delays in transportation.
➡️Parent notes may excuse an absence if within the allowable limit of absences.

By reopening, we aim to restore a sense of normalcy, provide our students with the education they deserve, and continue serving as a vital resource for our community.

During the rainy weather, we have a total of 6 Saints, 6 LSU, 3 Breast Cancer Awareness, 2 Fall, and 3 Christmas Designs on the way right now for our glass cups, coffee mugs, and even tea towels!! We have to stay occupied!!!

Francine has officially formed…. And I wouldn’t be surprised to have Cat 2 storm on our hands now…. That being said we have seen yet another shift east as I said last night would happen! And I wouldn’t be surprised to see at least one more shift east before this all said and done please pay attention to the east side of the track! I see a landfall being very close to Houma La. Also those on the east side New Orleans and Mississippi will see the worst as all the energy will be on the east side…. Make preparations today and tomorrow this will be an overnight event!
