My good friends Aaron M, Jaydream, Jeevan Jee and Filth & Pleasure are supporting some heavy weight international artists this Friday night in what is sure to be a huge night.

If you like your music dark and hard, then you really shouldn’t be missing this one. 🪖

Certainly one of the biggest events I’ve been involved in. Huge names on this line up that I didn’t expect I’d see on the same bill and to have these come to Perth is just amazing ❤️

Looking forward to Yangebeats 2nd Birthday. I am going to play some music.

Our next announcement is Levitt Martin aka Tymarl.

We literally found this guy on his own in the queue to see John 00 Fleming in 2019. Despite our best efforts, we’ve not been able to get rid of him…

He claimed to be able to DJ but we weren’t so sure. Luckily for him we needed an opening DJ for the first Yangebeats so we decided to take a punt and let him play…Luckily for us it wasn’t an absolute train wreck and we’ve generally kept him on the lineups (albeit an early slot).

Over the last years though, we’ve really seen him grow as a DJ. He’s played at bush doofs for Twisted Jah, techno gigs in the city as a resident DJ for Concept and just last month inexplicably found himself on the same lineup as his idol JOOF.

We’ve decided to reward his continuing development as a DJ by giving him another opening slot at our second birthday…

Q) Your Favourite Yangebeats gig?
A) The Boat party, the vibe that night was next level and it was also the only time I’ve broken the 124bpm barrier for Yangebeats at a live event.

Q) Armin or Ferry?
A) 2002 Armin.

Q) What have you planned for the 2nd birthday?
A) I won’t know until the day. I like to surprise myself.

Q) What is the best track played at a Yangebeats gig outside your set?
A) When Chris Hynds played The Digital Blonde - Weeping Willow (Facade Remix). I’d always wanted to hear that track live and Chris kindly gave me that experience.

Q) What was a “not so fun” thing that happened to you while DJing?
A) Forgetting how to DJ just as I plugged my headphones into the mixer at Twisted Minds 2020.

Also the generator running out of fuel mid set at EarthDance 2021. Scrabbling around in the rain at 1am trying to see if we could “borrow” some diesel from peoples vehicles wasn’t the one.

Q) What’s the funniest thing that’s happened to you at a Yangebeats gig?
A) I’ve had to get used to Paul Larko building stuff around me whenever I play the opening set at a Yangebeats gig. At the first one however, Paul dropped a mini laser onto the decks and knocked the CDJ that was playing into reverse mode.

Q) What gig was the most nervous for you to play at?
A) Opening the night for John 00 Fleming last month was easily the most nervous I have ever been about a set. Once I got those first couple of transitions under my belt though, it was amazing fun.

Q) Do you have a nickname that the Yangebeats lads have given you? what is it and why?
A) No, they don’t care about me enough for that.

Q) how do you best describe the Ethos of Yangebeats?
A) A group of friends that like to play music sometimes causes people to dance.

Q) Sash or Chicane?
A) Sash…these blaggers are pants!

Q) What is the cheesiest tune that makes you want to vomit due to the pure cheddar? –
A) DJ Sammy - Heaven

A) Kevin’s Dad.

Q) What’s the most bizarre gig you’ve played? Why was it so bizarre?
A) Any of the sets I played for Public Tranceport at Blazing Swan‘21. It was a pure survival mission just to make it through each day, let alone DJ. Add to that the optional clothing the audience were wearing and people trying to feed me meat during my set…it all made for a rather surreal experience!!

A) Basil O’Glue

I’m always asked the same question “Hey TyMarL, where can we see you play next?” and usually my answer is “Big things are coming…”

Well finally I can answer the above question with “Big things have arrived!!!”

February is shaping up to be VERY big indeed and you can catch me playing at three very different but equally special events…🙏

As we grow as a brand, so does our little family of resident DJs that make up and complete Concept. We’re inspired to find passionate DJs that play music driven by the diverse sounds techno has to offer.

We’d love to introduce our newest resident DJ! 🙏🏼

Levitt Martin [TyMarL]

Having only recently burst onto the Perth underground party scene - TyMarL is already staking his claim as being one to watch!

Drawing influences from artists such as John 00 Fleming, Stan Kolev, Basil O’Glue and Fuenka, he creates a hypnotic energy within his sets..teasing elements of light and dark while seamlessly playing across multiple musical genres. His unique blend of progressive house, melodic and driving techno always combined with trancential emotion is causing dance floors around Perth to dance differently.

Since arriving onto the circuit in July 2020, he’s immersed himself into the scene here in WA helping to set up the underground trance nights Yangebeats and Yangebeats UG, working as the joint theme camp lead for Public Tranceport at Blazing Swan 2021.

Feeling equally at home playing out bush or in the city, TyMarL has become a regular at events hosted by the legendary Twisted Jah crew and been afforded opportunities to play at Blazing Swan and the Treetops Stage at Blossom Festival 2021 which has helped increase his profile further.

Back in the city, he’s recently been added to the list of an already stellar lineup of resident DJs for Perths very own techno connoisseurs: Concept.

Super excited to be supporting this total melodic legend!!!

This has got to be one of the most special announcements I have been able to make to date. I’m super honoured to be asked to be the featured artists for Concept as they take their techno brand melodic for a very special evening.

I’m so grateful to be joining this amazing lineup of talent, which are sure to deliver an incredible night of melodic house & techno.

I’ll be playing a very special 2hr set of which I’ll be paying respect to the Concept brand with some chunky, rolling, but beautiful melodic techno. If there was ever one of my gigs that you should come to, it’s going to be this one.
