It’s our anniversary this weekend and it’s hard to believe it’s already been 5 years since we said “I Do.” Looking forward to a lifetime with many mini Polaroids documenting our adventures along the way 📸

And that’s a wrap on our 2022 wedding season! We’re so thankful for the amazing couples and families we had the opportunity to work with. We’re looking forward to 2023 and in the meantime will be enjoying the fall and holiday seasons.

So this is us! A family of 5.. all floof children must be counted. We’re happily messy, busy, imperfect, and fun (at least we like to think so). We’re travelers, foodies, planners, and suckers for weddings and love stories. Any free time that presents itself on our calendar is quickly filled with family, friends, and weddings. That’s just how we do it!

… then in 2021, this little man entered our world. Let me reiterate what I heard many times… nothing can truly prepare you for parenthood. The first year is a big S! #** show, sometimes literally, but it’s all so worth it and it just gets better and better.

We’ve never experienced anything more challenging, amazing, and rewarding all at once. Now that he’s over a year, which is hard to believe in itself, we’re finding a balance again. We’ve got our groove and perfected our ability to juggle multiple responsibilities at a time - just in time for #2 right? .. just kidding, not yet! 😄

We’re going to take this week to share a series of family posts. We thought it would be a nice way for you to get to know us a bit better! So, let’s get to it -
Hello! We’re Cynthia and Jorge, your Hunny Coordinators. We launched this company when we realized that we had a knack for wedding management. We love thinking about, organizing, and managing the details that most people would rather not worry about.

When we’re not talking about weddings, we’re probably planning our next meal , our next trip , or figuring out if it’s a gym or Netflix kind of evening.
•
In 2015 we were introduced via a mutual friend who sent us a group Facebook chat detailing all the things we had in common and why we should meet immediately 🫠

We were engaged 8 months later. Yes, 8 months. This man wasted no time 😃

2017 was a big year for us. We got married, adopted a pup, and bought our first home. Since then, we’ve added another dog to the pack and welcomed our first tiny human into the world.

Rather than getting overwhelmed, I’m working on practicing gratitude for the opportunity to connect with family, friends, and our wonderful clients! Spring is in the air and the calendar is jam packed!! Whenever life gets extra busy and I’m running in overdrive day in and day out, I find that it’s even more important for me to check in with my person and regroup at the end of the day. I find that it helps me stay centered both mentally and emotionally. Does anyone else feel that way? What do you do to stay connected at your busiest times? I hope everyone is having a wonderful start to the season, bring on the sunshine!

It’s time for a Meet us Monday!
Hi, I’m Cynthia and this is my husband, Jorge. We’ve been married for 4.5 years, have two fur babies, and became first time parents to the sweetest baby boy last May.

Our own wedding day was a dream come true and it was largely thanks to our day of coordinator that we honestly didn’t think we needed! We were inspired to help make sure others have similar unforgettable wedding days.

We coordinate all weddings together and strive to only coordinate one wedding per month so that our focus is entirely on you! It’s important to us that you feel relaxed and supported on your big day so that you can take a deep breath and take it all in.

Wedding planning is not wedding coordination.

These two roles are frequently confused, but are very different! Some venues require couples to hire a coordinator. Before you start reaching out to possible vendors, it’s important to understand the difference between planning and coordinating services.
✨
Think of a wedding coordinator as an event manager. We don’t plan the wedding, but are here to make sure that it goes smoothly. We help finalize details, create timelines, manage decor set up, help with ceremony timing, serve as the point person for your vendors and guests, etc. Venue managers know that weddings with coordinators generally go much more smoothly than those without, hence why many venue’s require that one be hired. You’ve done so much work to plan a beautiful event, you should be able to enjoy it as stress-free as possible! Trust us, you don’t want vendors and guests asking you logistical questions on your wedding day.

Full-service wedding planning can include help with design, bookings, budget, and planning from start to finish. Some planners do offer day-of-coordination as a part of, or in addition to, their planning packages. If you’re feeling overwhelmed about planning a wedding, or would like to have professional help every step of the way, then a wedding planner is probably a good choice! Planners are not usually required by venues or any other vendors. Hiring a full wedding planner is usually a personal choice!

We’re huge advocates for checking and double checking day-of details with your vendors. Vendor packages can vary quite a bit, so confirming details can be helpful for the vendors too. There’s no such thing as a bad question, and there’s no such thing as too much communication.

We’re on parental leave through July, but are still accepting inquiries and responding to e-mails. Our responses may be slightly delayed, but we promise to get back to you within 48 hours. So Jorge and I don’t generally celebrate any extra anniversaries outside of our wedding anniversary, but I happened to notice that today marks 6 years since Jorge first messaged me. That sent me down memory lane and I’ve spent the better part of the morning revisiting our first conversations and the story of how we met (check out today’s Instagram story if you want to see!).

Pro Tip: People want to know your love story! Make sure you include it on your website or even at your wedding! If you do have your first conversations documented somewhere (ie. Tinder, Facebook, Bumble) screenshot and frame it! Having a copy of your story or first conversation makes for great wedding decor for the bar or gift tables. You’ll also want to keep those memories forever so screenshot them, save them, make a photo book of your love story with them! We hope this inspired you to take your own trip down memory lane 💕

This weekend’s forecast in the DMV is a great example of why it’s so important to have a wedding rain plan! We just had a beautiful sunny day and tomorrow it’s nothing but storms.

Pro Tip: Make a plan B. What are the weather possibilities around your date? Whether it’s rain, snow, or extreme heat, having plan in place will save you a lot of stress in the long run. Share your plan with your vendors ahead if time and that way everyone is on the same page!

Also, overcast or sun right after a rain can make for some beautiful photos! All colors seem to pop just a bit more. 🌈

Happy Friday, Happy March, Happy almost Spring! Time just keeps on flying by!
As the 2021 wedding season is gearing up, vendors are already thinking about 2022 and even 2023! With so many weddings being moved, postponed, or rescheduled due to COVID-19, vendors are booking up quickly!

Pro Tip:
• Book your vendors early and start with those that only do one or two events per day (ie. coordinators, photographer, caterer etc.).
• Vendor prices often increase annually, so book them before the new year!

Wishing all of you a wonderful holiday weekend. I feel like I sleep the most and am the most exhausted right after big holidays (or weddings)! We’re definitely snuggling, sleeping in, and taking it easy all weekend.

Pro Tip: Try to build in some time to take a breath and rest before AND after your wedding day. We even recommend setting aside a few minutes of down time on your wedding day to take it all in, you’ll thank yourself later!

It has been a very difficult year for everyone. This is a great time pause and take a deep breath.

Pro Tip: I’ve started keeping a gratitude journal and write down 4 thinks that I’m thankful for each day. It has been wonderful so far, and I 100% recommend giving it a try! Yesterday I was thankful for cozy leggings, my doggos, my hubby, and Dunkin’ Donuts. What’s something your thankful for? ♥️
