For our final artist announcement for tonight at Quantum: A Sonic Journey Through the Love Spectrum, we present… OMEGosh!

OMEGosh is comprised of the DJ duo MegasaurusRx and Fade.R! Two wonderfully talented artists that are coming together as both lovers and DJs to play a B2B set for us tonight in celebration of Valentine’s Day! We asked them both some questions so we can better introduce them to you all, as individual artists, and about their sound as a duo as well:

Fade.R: I’ve been producing for the past 10 years, and just started DJing a little over a year ago when Meg came into my life and showed me the ropes. It’s been a fun and fulfilling journey teaching each other and working together on our shared passions. My sound varies, but what inspires me and gets my butt moving is experimental bass, garage, breaks, indie pop, and many of the in-between genres of EDM. I’m passionate about all the modern tools available that enable artists to create sounds that have never been heard before. Variety, attention to detail, and the beauty of imperfection are qualities I pursue. The more a song makes you think, “what even is this” (in a good way), the more I will probably vibe with it. “Create and Inspire” are words that mean a lot to me, and if nothing else, that’s what I want to contribute to my community.

MegasaurusRX: I think it's been about 4 years now because my first house party DJ event was right before COVID hit. As far as producing, yes! I am just starting out. That is Josh’s wheelhouse and he's been teaching me on FL Studio and we've begun to start collabing on songs together. It's really fun to be able to teach one another our different specialties and delve deeper into music together.
I think the question more is what I don't spin. But I’ll play anything House, D&B, Breakbeat, Midtempo, Psytrance, Experimental Bass, and a lot of genres I don’t know the name of so I’ll make up a genre name for it. Ever since I've started DJing I've been really motivated to be absorbed in new genres. I feel like I go through kind of an obsession phase where I delve deep to really feel them and explore the subgenres. It’s so fun to then come out of it and be like oh, yeah that will go nicely with this genre to transition to this other genre, and then puzzle it altogether in a multi-genre set.

I spin because most obviously because I love music. But I love doing it for the growth it provides for me, as well as for others. I love trying to play tracks that are not what someone might normally hear and then they end up falling in love with it. I love opening people’s eyes to new genres and sounds. I also love the joy it brings. I love seeing those butts shake. I love seeing when someone is so in the music that they just lose themselves, everything becomes weightless- all worries and stress melts away. I see the bliss on the faces around me and it fills my love tank to know I’m helping facilitate that.

OMG: Our combined sound is still evolving. This is our second back to back together. This set is an exploration of breakbeat sounds, a genre we are both obsessed with. Basically Meg is bringing the b***y (yes, physically too, we all know it) shaking beats and Josh brings this dark, emotional sound to our duo. So expect some undeniable bass face, irresistible b***y shaking, a side of darkness, and a dash of the emotional feels in this buffet of sounds.

Next up for artist announcements for Quantum: A Sonic Journey Through the Love Spectrum tonight, we present… DJ Girlfriends! (Korra the Kid & Mirin Doja)

An amazing DJ duo that will be spinning a jungly breaks set B2B tonight for us! They’ve both been DJing for about 10 years and are well-known for their musical endeavors in the Seattle scene both together and separately. It’s truly an honor to have them play the special Valentine’s Day edition of Quantum, and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for us ❤️

We asked them a few questions about themselves for more details on their passions and combined sound. Here’s what they had to say:

How long have you been DJing?

Both 10 years so combined 20 years

Do you produce as well?

Mirin Doja produces jungle, juke and footwork. She has releases on Jukebouncewerk , Delusional records, Ommaya and more.

What genres do you spin?

Jungle, drum and bass, club, breaks, hardcore, ukg, baile and whatever the vibe is at the moment.

What are your crew affiliations(if any?) and lastly, why do you spin?

Korra is deep n bass and slop arts space

What is it that makes you want to get up on those decks and play for people?

Keeping things fun and figuring out the exact formula to give the perfect performance for each crowd. The joy of music and creation and people enjoying themselves!

For our next artist announcement we present… The Good Kind! ( iplusplus & DreamHeavy)

The Good Kind has quickly become one of our favorite bass DJ duos we’ve ever heard, as their flow is seamless and their vision is so wonderfully collaborative it’s a really beautiful thing to experience.

Here’s their bio:

The Good Kind is the new collaborative bass music project between Seattle DJ’s Marissa Bjorn (aka DreamHeavy) and Alex Sutherland (aka i++). The two initially met while working for Seattle-based wave promotion company, Human Error, and it was clear from the beginning that their combined love for wave, deep dubstep, experimental beats, metal, and many other genres would lead to an incredible bond.
With a combined 40 years of musical experience, the two have always wanted to be performers. DreamHeavy started playing shows about 3 years ago, and their seemingly effortless ability to blend wave, dubstep and melodic bass has led to them being booked at some of Washington’s most iconic venues such as The Gorge, Q Nightclub and Monkey Loft. They have also shared the stage with some of Bass Music’s biggest artists like Chee, UZ, Moody Good, Esseks, Tsuruda, Slushii, Zingara and many more. Marissa has a background in piano and voice, and has been working behind the scenes on production, with the hopes of releasing the first DreamHeavy tracks within the next few years.
The i++ project started this past summer as a solo side-project, but Alex is primarily known for his work with deep dubstep/experimental bass duo, HEIRZ. With HEIRZ, Alex has played at the majority of Washington’s venues, including the legendary Showbox, has supported artists such as Peekaboo, Shlump, Zeke Beats, Mersiv and has released music on labels such as Sleeveless, LoFreq and Sus Collective. With 20 years experience as a drummer and 10 years as a producer/DJ, Alex hopes to grow the i++ project by combining the styles he is known for in HEIRZ with a darker, ethereal and more beat-centric approach, and has plans to release his first tracks by summer of 2024.

For our first artist announcement for Quantum: A Sonic Journey Through the Love Spectrum this Wednesday, we present… c0smic c0zy!

C0smic C0zy is the DJ couple duo c0smic j0ke & T. Cozy! Coming together to bring you an incredible performance that represents their incredible sounds combined. Which will be comprised of primarily bass music sounds, with a sexy love themed twist. We asked them a few questions to learn more about the dynamic DJ duo, and here’s what we discovered:

How long have you been DJing? Elise (c0smic j0ke) sat down at her decks for the first time during the snowpocalypse of February. After a few days of being locked inside and learning through trail & error, she managed to record & release her first ever mix on Valentine's Day. She is over the moon to celebrate her three year anniversary with Quantum.

T. Cozy has been DJing for 6 years! He received a controller after finishing college in 2018 and has been a bedroom DJ for the most part. He and CJ have b2bed together at Wave Garden, and T. Cozy is looking forward to bringing his skills to the Seattle area more regularly!

What genres do you spin? CJ is an open format DJ. She plays everything from downtempo 140 to disco to techno to bass house. T. Cozy spins mostly bass/trap/downtempo, but also will dabble in tech house & bass house, particularly when b2bing with CJ.

What are your crew affiliations(if any?) CJ is affiliated with Grooving for Good, Disco Clam, Duck Brunch & Tribe Equinox. T. Cozy is affiliated with Grooving for Good.

Why do you spin? What is it that makes you want to get up on those decks and play for people?

CJ enjoys curating a beat that runs a high energy, danceworthy thread through each set, no matter the genre. She appreciates being able to rise to the challenge that each gigs presents, hoping to bring alive the dance floor with tunes that inspire people to party and move their body.

T. Cozy has always loved music and has been inspired by it to dance. He loves sharing music that made him dance to inspire others to get some cardio going, feeling good while exercising their bodies, and enjoy moving with their friends. He also loves the creative outlet that DJing allows for playing with music. He now understands music completely differently now that he DJs.

Bio for CJ will be found below. The "vibe" that c0smic c0zy will be bringing to Quantum will be a mixture of slow/sexy beats and drippy bass. This set will for sure have you bumping & grinding throughout the hour. Grab your lover, grab you friends and feel the beats.

Coming down the line of introductions is none other than our girl, c0smic j0ke, but you can call her CJ for short. This magical gal comes up through the rave ranks, planning parties since 2010. If anyone knows what it takes to be a tastemaker of musical experiences or downright mischievous fun, count on this blonde with ambition. What kind of vibe will you experience when CJ is near? Well, be ready to dance and be captivated by feminine power that is interwoven in every set, no matter the genre. Are you ready or what?

Emergence DNB is a really amazing crew of dnb artists, that throw awesome underground parties in a private space every other month. The sound system is top notch, and the energy in the air is electric. It's super fun.

And for our final artist announcement for tonight, we present… Kaviera !!

An artist that loves spinning multi-genre sets comprised of various different types of electronic beats from bass music to house to dnb, to most things in between. Her roots are in drum & bass but after years of learning how to DJ & produce dnb, she’s branched out musically and found her love of creating and mixing music extends up and down the range of BPMs and electronic music genres as well. She is an artist that enjoys experimentation and pushing the boundaries of her mixing ability.

She’s played shows in Seattle, Portland, Auckland, and Canberra, Australia and has opened for acts like KJ Sawka, What So Not, NERO, Mr. Carmack, Joe Nice, Tsuruda, OVOID, and Engima Dubz. Her sound spans the full spectrum from vibey chill beats to energetic amen breaks.

As the founder and production manager of the event company Nocturne Syndicate, her current focus is on promoting diversity and providing opportunities to new artists within the electronic music space.

GREILARK, aka Waater (Shepherd Grei), has been innovating sound as an electronic musician who emerged on the scene in 2001. He became internationally recognized as a radio personality, DJ, and events producer. He is known for playing thick vibes and intentional sets, pushing the underground sound with lush ambient and mid-tempo to progressive, electro-tech, goa trance, drum and bass, and beyond. He has inspired some of the world’s leading electronic music talent and, in its wake, raised awareness utilizing arts and entertainment to some of our world’s foremost political issues.
“I believe we humans are okay to be different, and there is no rubric for who we are.

Through music, we reflect to transpire to a greater place of self-worth so we may evolve to a higher understanding. We share what we have to offer the world by moving as one while
embracing our tribal nature.” In 2011, GREILARK earned a Professional Music Certificate from the Portland Community

Next up for artist announcements for tomorrow night, we present… YUNKER! (Milestone Productions)

Local badman, and incredible beat selector YUNKER (formerly known as Dev By Snü Snü) was born and raised in the greater Seattle area, A true local with a drive and passion to share his vision through visceral beats, and undeniable grooves. We’ve known about him and his incredible sounds and mixing skills for a long time. He last played an event for us a couple years ago, and we knew we had to bring him back to see what he’s been cooking up! He always slays, with impeccable style and flow, and his sets are always an absolute vibe to experience.

YUNKER started out his dj obsession in 2015 as Dev By Snü Snü, playing small house parties, internet radio shows, and silent disco's all over the city with an overall "underground" feel, and through the years started playing bigger clubs, and local festivals/renegades.

YUNKER, while in the past has been known for his vast collection of nasty Tech House groovers, has decided to broaden his horizons with a more BASS centered Hip Hop/trip hop vibe that will definitely make you weak in the knees 😎

First up for artist announcements for the upcoming Quantum: A Sonic Journey Through the Electronic Universe - Space Flight 014 this Wednesday, we present... Wergulz!

Wergulz is an amazing local DJ and an avid lover of drum & bass. A newer DJ to Seattle's electronic music scene, he's been a rising star and has played on lineups with incredible acts such as Hedex. His love for the music really shapes energy and sound he puts out to the dancefloor, and it's super engaging to witness. We've been really excited to have him play Quantum for a long time, and we're so excited to have him out this Wednesday!

When asked what he loves about DJing, this was his response, "I've officially DJ'd for a year, a bit over two total. I listened to Dnb for most of my life, and I had mad vinyl, so I give spinning a go! Eventually I borrowed a friend's board, which prompted me to buy my own, and mix for friends. That's when the spark really hit me. Seeing my friends learn about a genre I loved, and enjoying my favorite tunes with them. It made me want to pursue DJing more. I've only listened to Dnb on my own until recently. So while playing puts me at ease, seeing people enjoy the same tracks I do is beyond euphoric. Certainly something I've been missing in my life until recent years. And I couldn't be happier since I started. I strive and hope to make others feel the same when they see my sets."

Dane is currently a resident of Flammable Sundays in Seattle. He produces events in the Pacific Northwest as Blue Spectral Storm, and is the former owner/ operator of Seattle's 30 year old iconic underground electronic music and live theater venue, Re-bar.
Dane plays 4/4 and bass/ dnb with a penchant for deep house, dub techno, hiphop, R+B, funk, and britpop. Mixed with live vocals, beatmatched vocal percussion loops, and live samples from a commercial voice actor.

An amazingly talented DJ that’s a resident of Nocturne Syndicate and is affiliated with Kojiki Records and Drum & Bass Tuesdays, and that also has an incredibly good ear for smooth and hard-hitting blends of jungle, Hip-Hop & R&B ! His style and flow is unlike any artist we’ve ever heard before, and in his unparalleled sound you will find the raw power and roots of jungle music. If you’ve ever heard him spin before, when you walk into a club and you hear him mixing, you’ll instantly know it’s him from his style and track selection. Specializing in jungle, juke, and gospel house, as well as 140 beats, his sets are super fun to dance to as he weaves soulful southern R&B and hip hop bootlegs/remixes into traditional jungle breaks.

In an amalgamation of his lived experience. As a q***r artist, I.S.H. was drawn to the acceptance of the electronic music scenes and later found his personal sound in the hard basslines and rugged edges of Tech House but you’ll also catch him playing a range of Techno, Trance, Bass House and Latin Deep Furthemore I. Over the last two years, naviijah has emerged in her local drum & bass scene where she is becoming known for her curation of full-spectrum and heavy artillery sounds. She has been on support for big names in the scene such as Saka and LUUDE.

MoFiyah has risen to the occasion with the speed and brilliance of a firework in the sky. Their energy and passion for the darker & harder side of dnb really shows in their amazing fiery sets, and their track selection gets the dancefloor moving like the ground is lava. A true connoisseur of neurofunk & other adjacent styles, while also being an artist that spends countless hours delving into SoundCloud releases to find some of the most hard-hitting and epic tunes ever heard. Their style is 100% her own, and it shines apart brightly from any local DJ we've ever heard before.
Having played for Dnb Tuesdays, People Music, and having made their official debut for Nocturne Syndicate at the Deep Dark & Dangerous Takeover at Substation, they always slays. Their sheer talent, love for the music, and the hard-hitting beats that she plays make their performances a unique and powerful experience every time.

& Alese!

Alese is an incredible fresh drum & bass DJ to the Seattle scene that started out spinning in 2018, and that has an excellent ear for what sounds good! Her track selection is absolute fire, while also being relatable and enjoyable to people that may have previously thought that they didn't enjoy the genre. An active member of the Seattle drum & bass community, and an absolute gem of a person with the most wicked style.

Her musical talent and ability has always been incredibly inspiring, and not only that, but her perseverance in pursuing the seemingly impossible. As an artist her sets are always incredibly memorable, as she weaves together the most amazing and multi-genre beats to create a beautiful tapestry that inspire both visionary and auditory wonder. She may not have been DJing for very long at all, yet she has risen to be one of our favorite DJs we’ve ever heard and had the opportunity to see. Her energy is incomparable, and her flow while so deep into the music is unmatched in its unique and extraordinary union of her passion and talent. She’s a firework we can’t help but stare at in amazement, as our bodies dance wildly, immersed in the melodic structures and flawless transitions. House? She’s got it. Half-time? She’s got it. Psytrance? Hell yeah she’s got it.

His style and flow is unlike any artist we’ve ever heard before, and in his unparalleled sound you will find the raw power and roots of jungle music. If you’ve ever heard him spin before, when you walk into a club and you hear him mixing, you’ll instantly know it’s him from his style and track selection. Specializing in jungle, juke, and gospel house, as well as 140 beats, his sets are super fun to dance to as he weaves soulful southern R&B and hip hop bootlegs/remixes into traditional jungle breaks.

SPEC_drum

SPEC_drum is an amazing multi-genre Seattle DJ and an incredible selector with a a truly unique ear that really captures the best and most eclectic rhythms of the genres he spins. His beats can be found in the realm of underground sounds, where sound system culture thrives and the bass is deep and heavy. Providing vibe distribution and audio munitions to the people.

Playing mostly between ~130 to 160 BPM. Dub, Dubstep, UKG, Warehouse Breaks, Halftime, DnB, Jungle, and sometimes Hip Hop are the genres that comprise his sound. A recent addition to Shook Presents as Resident DJ, and a member of Nocturne Syndicate as well, his flow, style, and tasteful balance between minimalism and happenin beats is an absolute vibe.

IG-93

IG-93 is a fantastic DJ, and IG-93 is also an experience. With incredible taste and the skills to match, he's been DJing for over 10 years and you can really tell when you hear his sound. This incredibly talented multi-genre artist has been known to open for acts like Truth and KJ Sawka, and is a founding member of Nocturne Syndicate as well.

He's also built a really cool backstory for his DJ persona about an assassin droid turned DJ who rejected his programming and traded in his weapons for waveforms. Here it is for more details on IG-93 himself:

IG-93 began life as an assassin droid manufactured by Holowan Laboratories. While on a bounty hunting mission on Coruscant, IG-93 found himself inside a lively Cantina where Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes were performing. The infectious rhythm caused his programming to corrupt, sending IG-93 into an AI existential crisis. Why do I kill? For whom do I serve? It was at this point IG-93 rejected his code written by the technicians at Holowan, and rewrote his programming - to become the grooviest droid in all the galaxies. After a fierce battle with the Galactic Empire he jumped to hyperspace and plotted course for the Milky Way system, where he had heard tales of dancing and laughter on a funky lil' planet called Earth...

The last Quantum was absolutely incredible. Thank you to every artist that played, everyone absolutely killed it, and for all the people that came out as well. It was a wonderful time and we're so grateful and humbled by the sheer force of talent and skill that both the newer artists and the local legends showcased while throwing down house. dubstep, synthwave, psytrance, drum & bass, and jungle . The results were absolutely extraordinary, and we're so proud of what Quantum (formerly Boh!) has become in the last year and half. We'll be taking a two month hiatus until February, since Nocturne Syndicate the founder/production manager of this one-person operation is going to Europe for most of January. We will resume throwing Quantum in late February! At which point, there will be some new changes being introduced: - Annual residencies: Basically the idea is that for newer/less known DJs and Producers, there will be residents picked that will hold a residency for a year with Nocturne Syndicate. Which means 4 guaranteed bookings (once quarterly) within that year. All previous residents that have been phased out, will also hold permanent affiliation with Nocturne Syndicate and can claim that at any time. The crew/residents will only grow as Quantum continues to grow. - A once-quarterly renegade crew and/or new & blossoming event company takeover night to showcase local DJ collectives' sounds. These will alternate genre-wise. With one crew takeover every third month of each quarter of the year. Thanks again everyone for supporting Quantum! See you all in February 💫
