Happy first day of Fall! 🍁

To date, Gabby & Caden’s wedding was probably one of the most beautiful Fall days I’ve experienced. All the seasonal colors were on full display with 70 degree temps! Minnesota gave us the best of everything for this sweet couple. 🥰

Looking forward to continuing our wedding season next month in hopes for more days like this!

Destination weddings are truly something else. They combine two of my greatest passions, and are so much fun to plan! I met the bride pictured here, Victoria, years ago through work in Minnesota. When she got engaged, she lived with her fiancé in Boston, with plans to move to California the following year. I helped them find this dreamy venue and we planned her wedding completely virtually! The reality is, our planning experience wasn’t super different from my Minnesota clients. Most touchpoints during the planning process are held over a call or video chat regardless of where you live. The week of a destination wedding, I arrive early and schedule time at the venue to walk through the ceremony, cocktail, and reception spaces to understand the event transitions. After many months of conversations with the venue coordination team, I have developed a good understanding of the wedding flow, and this last in-person meeting puts the final visual pieces together.

Every destination wedding requires a little more research and attention to logistics, but they are so rewarding! I have found so many cool places you can married across the globe and would love to share those with some awesome couples. BOOKING UPDATE❗️

While my announcement isn’t a recent change as I have implemented this shift over the last year, this is the first time I am sharing it here on social media! I want to be fully invested and create the best experience possible for all couples that book with Plus One. For that reason, going forward, I am capping the number of weddings I take on each year at 10! This decision brings me so much happiness as it provides balance in my personal life and guarantees success for my clients.

I am working with 10 amazing couples in 2023, and cannot wait to kick off my season in less than 2 weeks! With 6 celebrations planned for 2024 (2 being destinations which I am SO excited for), I am taking on just a few more weddings, specifically between the months of January-June 2024. If you are in need of assistance for your special day please reach out as soon as possible!

Plus One will continue business as usual as a boutique wedding planning service, and we look forward to celebrating many more love stories in the future. 🤍

One of the most common questions I get from brides leading up to their wedding day is what they should pack for their photographer’s detail photos! Usually the photographer provides a list of ideas, but if you are stuck wondering what you should bring, save this post. ☺️ I recommend bringing all items in a box so your photographer can easily grab everything when they get there - as these details are usually one of the first things they shoot the day of your wedding!

Our Wedding / Part 5

As I sit here writing this caption, I’m realizing that our wedding day was over 7 months ago. I never thought I’d be recapping our celebration so far past it, but it’s been fun reliving the day over and over again through these posts…and I think it’s a little less annoying (maybe?) than me doing it all at once. After all, this is a business account, not my personal wedding fan page. 😇

Regardless of the time that’s passed, these memories are still clear as ever, especially this one. My first look with my dad was expectedly very emotional. We have a very close relationship and I’m his only daughter…needless to say this wedding was a big deal for him too. ☺️

After my mom helped my get dressed, I walked down the steps of our suite to a landing looking over Santorini’s caldera. This is where I saw my dad for the first time on our wedding day! Let the first of many tears ensue 🎉

I’m forever grateful that these moments were captured. If you’re debating doing first looks because they feel too forced or staged, I would still go for it - the reaction of family, bridal party, and of course your partner seeing you in your wedding look for the first time is 10/10 worth it. Our Wedding / Part Four

Meet the boys! While I can’t speak for their experience the morning of our wedding, I can say that they looked amazing and were the life of the party the whole wedding weekend. Danny and all groomsmen got their suits at . If you’re looking for an elevated, personal suit shopping experience, I highly recommend! Blue felt like the right decision for our wedding, and we didn’t really consider anything else. Since we had our groomsmen purchase their suits, we chose a medium blue tone that they probably did not already have. Danny was open to something unique, and I think the light blue did the trick. Our wedding / Part Thee: The morning of 🤍

I would be lying if I said I woke up with butterflies of excitement on my wedding day. I had no concerns about our vendors, wedding party, or family, but of course the one element out of my control threw me for a loop….the weather. We woke up to light showers and a forecast that showed 40-60% chance of rain the entire day. Sure, rain on the morning of your wedding is supposed to be a good sign for your marriage, but let me tell you - when it’s your wedding you really don’t care about what that rain supposedly does, you just want it GONE. 😂 In the 24 hours leading up to my wedding I downloaded just about every weather app on the app store to find one that would give me some clarity on when the rain would let up. Nothing I looked at gave me the answers I needed. Our coordinator at approached me the morning of our wedding with some options to address the unpredictable weather. I so badly did not want to move the event indoors because of all the installations we had planned. She suggested that I move the wedding back by and hour, and seemed to think things would clear up around 5 o’clock that day. Moving the timeline on the wedding day is something I have never done, but she assured me she would communicate with our vendors to make it work. Stay tuned to see what 5 o’clock really looked like on my wedding day. 😉

With the help of a little champagne, my mom, and my amazing bridal party, I was able to get in the right mindset for our celebration. .santo and I decided to switch up my look that morning to make it more weather-proof. Originally I had planned curled hair tucked behind my ears, and spent most of the past year growing it out for the occasion. But there was NO way that would have stayed intact with the wind and humidity. Instead, I found on a knot-style low bun, and Julia nailed the look. 🙌🏼

This goes to show that however much work you put into planning your wedding, things don’t always go as expected. Sometimes you need to step back and focus on the reason you’re there to get past the little things, and I’m so happy I had some help getting there. ☺️

Let’s talk about cocktail hour! Personally, this is my favorite part of a wedding. The bride and groom are riding on a high from their ceremony, and have erased all nerves that existed. It’s the beginning of a celebratory evening! The drinks are flowing and guests are reconnecting with friends and family they have not seen in a while. If the weather’s nice, you’ll head out to the patio to sip in the sunshine. What’s not to love? After the bride and groom have a moment to themselves, I always recommend they grab a glass (or two) and take advantage of this special hour. It’ll go quick!

Our Wedding / Part Two

For our “rehearsal dinner” Danny and I knew we wanted to host some type of excursion. Our guests traveled so far for our wedding to this beautiful destination, and we wanted to make the most out of their time. From research and many recommendations, we decided a catamaran cruise was the best option - specifically a sunset cruise! We were so excited to host all 50 guests the day before our wedding, giving us more time with each one of them, and our guests more time to get to know each other. One of the most common pieces of feedback I gather from family members and clients is they felt obligated to talk to each guest at their (large) wedding, and it took up so much time, or they felt guilty they didn’t get to speak to each one. One of the many perks of hosting an intimate wedding and pre-wedding events is: that pressure to speak to each person goes away, because organically, you will spend time with everyone.

The weather was a little more windy than I expected, so I ended up wearing a linen set that I picked up in the streets of Oia the day before our cruise. The boat traveled to a few different hot springs and beaches, with a few brave souls going for a swim (definitely not me - couldn’t ruin the ponytail).

It was a mostly cloudy cruise, but just before the sun set the sky opened up! We were so happy to have our photo and video team there to capture moments from this excursion. Big thank you to for hosting our group and providing an incredible experience! Oh and for going back to the port to pick up guests that missed boarding (see last pic). 🫠

Getting our wedding album back has us reliving Santorini almost every day. 💙 seriously did the best job! I’m forever grateful that they captured our wedding…one of the best decisions Danny and I made.

From 2000+ photos, I’ve been debating what to share first. I decided it would be best to start from the beginning to tell the story of our wedding weekend and share some of our favorite moments from each part.

The day before our wedding, we had a mini adventure session with our photographers and videographers in a town just south of . While it was fun exploring the streets and capturing some fun moments, this time was also important for us to get to know our photo + video team. I always recommend that clients take advantage of an engagement session with their wedding photographer, and believe it truly shows when the bride and groom feel at ease on their big day! So I like to think of this as our warm up. Not too bad of a warm up I’d say. 😌

I also had my wedding stylist .santo do my hair and makeup the day before, and I’m so happy she did. While I knew I would do a different style on the wedding day, this helped us get to know each other and refine my vision for the wedding day so it was perfect. Normally I do not wear a ton of makeup, and I feel that she did an incredible job creating an elevated version of myself. This look was so much fun, and that ponytail that could have stayed in tact the entire trip. 🤪
